Works both ways. Uncircumcised men are unable to know if the sex is any worse after circumcision.

I know 2 men circumcised as adults for medical reasons and they both say sex is better post op. But even that isn't great evidence as the reason they had the op in the first place was due to foreskin issues that probably effected their enjoyment pre op.

What we need is the opinion of a man who was circumcised for non medical reasons as an adult, and I don't know any.
For a variety of reasons I don't want to go into, it was a medical OPTION for me.
The urologist suggested I do some research.

From what I can remember the consensus was that sex is different but not particularly better/worse.
However, what made me keep as much of me attached as possible was the fact that pretty much EVERYONE freaked out when they saw the results on themselves!!

You are so used to what the fella looks like that when it first appears completely different it can be very discombobulating.

Both relics from ill educated savages and deluded fools believing in higher powers.

Both need eradicating from the world.
If anyone else attacked a baby with a knife causing life-changing injuries then performed a penetrative sexual act on him in front of several witnesses I'd quite reasonably expect any right minded jury to convict that person and for the judge to eradicate them from the world for a significant number of years.

But hey. It's all OK if it's done in the name of religion... rolleyes

To be fair, "sexual" depends on the context. You wouldn't call a prostate exam a penetrative sexual act.

It should still be banned because of:
1) Spread of disease from old Rabbi to new baby
2) Lack of consent from the child to perform elective cosmetic surgery on them
3) Insanity and disgust of the whole thing

I think a compromise should be made. Instead of doing this to young babies... At 18 years old the child should be asked by their parents, in front of a government health visitor, whether they would like a local religious leader to cut a portion of their genitals off. If the answer is yes, then it should be permitted. Otherwise it shouldn't.

I can't see the mother in that MGM party, is the baby just bonding with the males of the tribe?

Do Jews see themselves as bonded to Muslims by this process since it's the same?

This is the kind of hysterical nonsense that does more harm that good to the argument.

Only 85....

Making it illegal is a bit like banning mobile phone use in a car, a law that we cant enforce, but it looks as if we are doing something about the problem.

We could stop importing problems in the first place ?

I'd have thought being successfully prosecuted would be an excellent way to discourage this stone age barbarism; they can have the 'think of the children' panic attack once there's a successful conviction, then opt for sentencing to, say, punitive amounts of community service if they think jailing is inappropriate and would disproportionately harm the child.

They have posted to clarify that they will prosecute if in the child's best interests. Seems like the biggest problem they have is being able to obtain evidence as to who is actually carrying out the deed.

There's a long article on their site about it - https://www.west-midlands.police.uk/latest-news/ne...

That tweet is still ridiculous. People shouldn't be using twitter without thinking how it'll look. It's like they have Trump as twitter adviser.

Its OK. The BBC covered this last night on call the midwife (it transpires it isnt the men who do this, its the women: its empowering, you see...) so this has been done. Lets move along and talk about Trump's tweet shall we. Nothing more to see here etc etc

Agreed - it seems to have gone from their feed and been replaced by more sensible ones.

Can't be a TrumpTweet - no random CAPS lock.

That is the biggest issue with it - "if in the child's best interest".

You have two loving parents who have never done anything wrong, have no criminal record and want to do the best for their children.

Sending them to jail, breaking up the family unit, does that do the child any favours ?

If as a Nation we are happy with immigration from these countries / groups we have to take the good and the bad from them.

Surely it is up to the CPS and the courts to decide all of this, including what is in the best interests of the child and what might be an appropriate punishment if any.

The job of the police is not to make these decisions.

No wonder there are no prosecutions and no reduction in the amount of FGM if this is their thinking.

Sorry, but I don't agree.

Maybe I have an overly simplistic view of things, but you could equally argue that if you are happy to emmigrate to the UK, then you should be prepared to abide by the UK laws (i.e. take on the good and the bad of the UK).

FGM is illegal in UK. UK law applies to all UK resisents. You can't pick and choose which laws apply to which people.
