Indonesia the most populous Muslim country in the world appears to have unbanned it to allow Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation, in a controlled regulated sterile environment.

The particular Muslim association that lobbied for the change has 40m members/ followers, surely they can’t all be wrong ?

My geography isn’t what it used to be but I don’t believe Indonesia is in Arica ?

I think London would be ok, nigh on 40% of Londoners are immigrants anyway - 2011 census.

Lose 40% of the population you suddenly don’t need as many nhs staff.

That is only partially true.

Only 20% of all NHS workers are classified as BAME, they make up about 13% of our population. They are over represented but not by the huge amount that popular perception would have us believe.

Some sectors will have different proportions.

Er, there are non BAME immigrants working in the NHS too. Or do you only want to kick out those nasty non white immigrants?

39% of NHS staff in London are non UK - 12% EU and 27% Non EU - so your plan to kick out all immigrants wouldn't help healthcare in London anyway.

In relation to fgm this is a bame issue.

If 40% of London nhs staff are immigrants, and 40% of the population are also immigrants removing all immigrants would have little effect on the nhs. Which is what twig was trying to point out.

The non eu population of London is approx 25%, and they make up 27% of the nhs in London.

Aren’t we making the same point ?

Non UK nationals are not saving the nhs in London, they are needed to cope with the huge number of non UK nationals.

Not a huge community, but yet another group that don't live in Africa, that feel it is an obligation as a muslim.

They don't call it fgm, "circumcision" is the correct term and not as severe as some others.

The only thing I can think of is that I've said there's a significant difference in terms of impact between male circumcision and female circumcision, with the latter being (IMO) far more serious. For those who want to ban either it seems to make more sense to focus on the latter rather than conflating the two.

You have no love for circumcision but you willing did it to your own son without his consent.
