I'm sure the EU countries can't wait!
Translate that into what appears to be the current negotiating strategy. We can't afford for them to leave so we'll be as impossible as we can be in the hope they say "oh sod this for a game of soldiers. Ok then we'll stay."

It's going to work so well for them, not.

Lots more tax to pay - the EU and europhiles surely love tax.

It couldn't happen to a nicer blob of self-serving dysfunctional supranational bloat.

It was always going to be thus! When the EU skewed its raison d'etre from being an economic community to being a vast political experiment then the financials were always going to hurt if a major contributor left.

It now has major problems because the pips are already squeaking on the remaining major contributors - Italy is pretty much bust so can't really afford any further contribution so the lion's share will have to be divvi'd up between Germany and France. Their electorates haven't cottoned on quite yet but it will dawn on them over the next year or so. The Dutch may well begin to rue their recent decision as well!

The poorer Southern European states are already on their uppers so it's difficult to see how their subsidies can be reduced to help.

It is easy to see why the EU want the divorce settlement sorted out first! The threat by UK to walk without a deal is a real negotiating position - the possibility of the UK net contribution being cut off overnight must be giving Barnier et al some sleepless nights.

Or ask for 100B euro divorce payment to get a decent deal and said 100b could create an annuity close to our current contribution. One way or the other we will get a deal but it will cost us some serious coin. I don't mind actually as long as we tell them to foxtrot oscar. It's net bad for business(mine) but I'm thinking of the country

Handing the EU €100Bn is not going to fly with the UK public, no matter how fierce a Brexiteer they may be - it would be complete political suicide for whoever even dares to suggest it! Will the EU dare risk the UK just walking? It will be an interesting six months in a year's time!

You could give the EU £100Bn and they'd spend it EVEN faster than they normally do.

My good man, I didn't propose such a thing. Merely suggested why they are asking. I think we'll continue to pay a large amount though. 5b plus give or take without the current strings. They want our money and our intelligence. Well 5 eyes intelligence. They are blind without it. Tough st if it means security issues for them.

The word on the street is that all the monetary problems are solved.

Last night Corbin and Abbott were watching their favourite scene from Dr Zivago on an old VHS (the scene where the Czars family is killed) and when it went to the adverts of that time, there was one from Ocean Finance.

He therefore plans to take out a really long term loan and consolidate all our national debts into one easy payment.

But here's the best thing.......

...according to the advert, we can now ALL afford to go on a holiday!!!

Awesome!! smokin

Just give it a go!!!

And they'll say we don't need your banks, JCBs, Jaguars/Landrovers or your people to build nissans/hondas.

Then what?

It's almost like it's more a more complicated process than telling them where to stick it...

you think so ?? what we sell then is tiny in comparison , I bellive Russia buys more JCB's and more japanesse brand cars
are exported to Japan from our world class plants, than the Euros buy !!! we have a trade deficit with Europe , for instance currently a lot the parts for those cars etc have to come from the EU, once we are out manufactures will be free to source parts worldwide making them even more competitive , win win
