This is a very good question. How much money have our councils been spunking on bidding for these vanity parades, versus how often they've actually won them and how much benefit the few winners have actually reaped....
The anger should not be being directed at the EU for withdrawing another of their toys. It should be why we got suckered into this parade in the first place.
