My clients are using currency forwards to hedge overseas investments. They are therefore protected from rises in £ v €, but don't gain from falls in £ v €.
I wasn't asking about your clients, but we'll chalk that one as a result of my clumsy Engrish, I was asking for the country as a whole. Thanks.

As you are well aware:
- a lower £ has meant that overseas assets held by UK individuals (e.g. pensions & ISAs) have gained in value
- a lower £ has meant that exporters are more competitive
- a lower £ means higher import prices

Short term the disadvantages probably outweigh the advantages, but the economy is a long term issue.

"Backup security centre"? Not yet open, will eventually employ as many as 30 people.

We're doomed.

You don't speak for the country, not sure who you speak for really as its always so negative!

You seem to want to support the 5% of people, such as in large corporations and politicians that benefit from being part of the EU protectionist racket, furthering their bent career paths. Why is this?

Oh look:

The Register said:
The UK Space Agency and the Centre national d'études spatiales inked the deal yesterday at Sandhurst, promising to extend their current partnership for new projects.

These will include work on climate science and space systems in support of the implementation of a Space Climate Observatory (SCO); Mars exploration, for technology developments in autonomous navigation of the ExoMars mission rover; and the nurturing of "space hubs" and ecosystems, to aid in supporting relief efforts after natural disasters
Sounds a bit more exciting than a back up security system to me.

Or they could just reduce their margin.

What about chocolate digestives? IIRC vat is added to them. They shrinking too?

The most American of American corporations?

That will upset people who voted Leave to preserve "British culture".

Bang out of order.

First it was Toblerone, now nudge, nudge and Hobnobs, but any reduction in the number of plain chocolate biscuits in a pack of McVitie's will result in a one man demo outside the HoC and a declaration of non support for leaving the EU.

I wonder if the shrinkage in the pack sizes will have an immediate and profound shock to McVitie's fans, or whether it will be phased in over a number of months, with a reduction of one biscuit per month.

What's next..........Fudge? That really will take the biscuit!

Still waiting for these intelligent and well spoken Leavers we hear so much about to call in and make a fool of JO'B

Remember, if you think they're screening calls (or that LBC, employers of Nigel Farage, are too biased towards Remain) to give him easy targets, just play dumb when you first get through. It's a live show, it'll be too late for them once you're on the air.

Still no takers?

All Leavers may not be thick, but the ones who tend to speak out in public tend to be biggrin

I'm not sure you've got a handle on this 'intelligent' thing.

Would an intelligent person spend their time listening to a shouty-crackers radio presenter?

Would an intelligent person then ring up that shouty-crackers radio presenter and argue with them?

I think if you took a vote most normal people are happy with the majority of cultures, just not those from the dark ages.
