It'll be like that little girl that went missing abroad at this rate! A lifetime job for some coppers.

Where would you rather be?

Searching at a beach resort in Spain or

Searching on a rubbish dump in East Anglia?

Can i think about it?

They reckon something about new info as before only 1 truck, now could have been more than 1!

My bet is the waste company or the haulage firm have been involved in something fraudulent. If you remember at the beginning there was all that bks about the lorries weight. Now they've suddenly realised (been leant on more like) that other lorries could have taken him.

This has been inferred from the start.

Was it Sherlock Holmes that said that when youve discounted everything thats probable, however unlikely look at the improbable.

Did someone say the waste company took the recyclables straight to landfill rather than the sorting centre?
How does that explain the phone?

It is quite possible that the mythical Sherlock Holmes was made to say it.

The fact remains that William of Ockham said it hundreds of years before.

Isnt it the corollary
Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Arthur Conan Doyle

Occam is probably closer in this case though, the simple explanation is more likely
