Breaking news now is a police officer has been shot. Not related to this i know but shows just how easy it is for officers to get shot. Could so easily have been shot in this instance too.
Illegal guns have no place on our streets. The more resources devoted to removing them the better, anyone who has experience of working around Manchester will know how readily available they are there.

He couldn't possibly have been lying, could he?
Quality firearms aren't readily available and criminals are reluctant to possess for them for anything but the minimum amount of time because of the risk of being stopped. Having fewer available firearms makes it easier for them to be highlighted and tracked.

Has a verdict been reached on this yet? Or was it found he did point a gun at police and refused to give himself up, therefore not newsworthy?
The IPCC report for Mark Duggan took 4 years, which gives you an idea of how long it can take depending on all the the legal issues that surround such an event. La Liga said:

Yea right, I was having a quick conversation with a second hand car dealer who fancies himself as a bit of a gangster the other month and as soon as I mentioned I would like to get my own back on somebody, he was offering to get me a gun the same day if that was the way I wanted to sort it, the blokes a balloon but he does have connections. Also I believe there are several guns buried on moss land down at the local council site, if you want one go and dig one up. I'm sure if a gangster wanted a gun for something he would have one within the hour.

Whenever I am on the look out for a secondhand bargain, I often find the conversation turns to how the dealer can not only offer competitive finance packages and gap insurance, but how they'll additionally conspire to murder someone if I want to 'get my own back' on someone.
Asking a favour of someone is a great tactic for engratiating yourself with them. La Liga said:
Oh, I wasn't aware you had spoken to a second hand car dealer who fancies himself as a bit of a gangster.
I withdraw my post
I wasn't after your approval, so if you want to carry on telling your version of the utopia we live in then thats your look out. Although you only have to google any major town name followed by the word shooting and its pretty obvious that guns are ten a penny to get hold of. A lot of people would do well to get out in the real world a bit more.I withdraw my post

hang on, you said I can google this info, and then you tell to get out in the real world. Make your mind up!!! Maybe googling the news that actually happens near you (not the BBC news) would be more of an insight or if you want the first hand experience try going for a walk at 11pm in your local town centre, maybe even call someone a wker because obviously they wont have any weapons on them and you will be safe.

Did you even read my post? Where did I say it was utopia? I said quality firearms are hard to get hold of, there's fewer of them so they're easier to track and criminals don't like being in possession of them for any period of time due to the risk of being stopped with them in circumstances like this topic is about.
Your counter to that was you've spoken to some second-hand car salesman, you 'believe' there's some arms cache buried somewhere, that's evidently so well known I'd be able to dig them up (but the authorities with their far reaching information gathering techniques haven't managed it), and that you can Google firearm crime...
I'm convinced!
We have one of the lowest murder rates in the world from firearms. Nearly everyone else is above us.

Like I said, I'm not really interested in whether anyone believes it or not, I don't get involved in anything like that but I'm streetwise enough to know what goes on.
I think your lack of interest extends to reality, too. You convincing yourself you're 'streewise' is much more convincing than actual data, indications, experience and evidence. Such as: Wow a graph, that proves it then. I take it that lovely picture includes 100% of the crimes that have ever actually taken place and not just the recorded crimes like it states? Now show me a graph that shows the number of policemen employed over the same years, does it fall like your picture by any chance?

I have spent time in many places where guns are available, the UK is nothing like as dangerous. Yes there are total st holes as there are everywhere in the world but let's not get carried away. A lot of people on the internet would do well to get out in the real world a bit more. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
