Another friend Leanne Astin wrote: 'You were no angel but you were still one of the good guys and did not deserve this'.

Whenever they say "he's no angel" it means he had a rap sheet as long as the wall of China

Great..
But that doesn't change the fact that this was an assassination.

I dont know the guy, but im not going to support extrajudicial assassinations when we have a perfectly adequate legal system in place.
Nope. It was a police stop of a car carrying suspects, who most likely then tried to pull out a weapon, and one of whom was then shot in order to protect the safety of the officers.

That's not even close to the definition of an assassination.

They pre-planned to go out tooled up, locked and loaded to fill a guy with lead.

how is it not an assassination?

If he did pull a firearm on the police, they're normally VERY quick to state that... but they haven't...

Are you taking the mick? You think they went out with the full intention of shooting someone dead?

Why would any officer want the hassle that goes with that? Do you really think the Police go out and execute people like this?

What an odd world you must live in. Assuming you aren't kidding wink

No they didn't.

They pre-planned to go out and stop a car. They also anticipated the occupants might be armed, and took appropriate steps to ensure any weapons could not be used against the police or public.

Nobody would have planned to shoot anybody. The plan would have been to avoid it. But they were unsuccessful.

Dead mans car a silver Audi.

Er, thats the police car.
Don't read the Daily Wail, that reckons all the cars there belong to the guys who were stopped laugh

To me it looks like the Audi is the dead mans car, I'm not sure about the VW behind it though - also stopped or a police car?

Why are you starting off from an assumption that the police broke the law when there is another explanation?

Nope.

The plan worked fine. The car was stopped, and no police were injured by a guy that (probably) tried to attack them.

Tick off the checks and balances to make sure it's lawful and as expected. Then crack on with the next thing on the list.

to be fair, in the night shots, the Audi does look silver. think it is white though. the second car ( as part of the operation ) is a white Scirocco. better pics here -

I know "shot a man in a pre-planned Police operation" can be read a few ways but I doubt very much that they did this.

rofl

Seems like the plan worked a charm to me, all the vehicles were stopped, only one suspect had to be shot dead and no police officers were injured.

A st plan would have made itself apparent if some of the cars got away and police officers were injured.

I think stopping three or four cars in one go and managing to arrest multiple people, whilst only having to shoot one of them (there will have been a reason why the officer felt the need to fire) was, in the absence of much background information, probably a good result.

Ahh I see, the police can do no wrong in your eyes.
everything they do is beyond reproach and should never be questioned...

IMHO all aspects of our government and their control measures they have to keep us "in line" should be questioned, and always under the horrible spotlight of retrospect

Love the fact that the keyboard experts can study one image of 3 shots and and know this was an assassination and the operation was poorly planned. rofl

E.g. nothing they do is without question. Reading helps learning. Try it sometime.

Given there is nothing to suggest the police have done anything incorrectly. They yes. I'm going to assume it's been done correctly until the IPCC say different.

It will be questioned, that's what the IPCC will be doing.

Admittedly some things felt wrong about that process last time I remember hearing anything about it (such as allowing officers to confer etc.) but waiting for the facts to emerge is usually a good idea.
