Meanwhile, a poll of 541 Trump voters has revealed that 88% of them would vote for him again were there to be another election now.

Stay classy America.
I think it's perfectly possible to deplore Trump the man & empathise with his support. I know I do from some of the fair handed reportage pre election.

Were I someone living on welfare in the rust belt, I suspect I would also entertain promises to bring back manufacturing & all the rest of it irrespective of the vessel delivering the message or it's likelihood of ever coming to pass.

I think it's fair to nuance the view, especially if like me, you're sitting 3000 miles away & scoffing at the orange man baby stealing a living.

I do empathise with why (some of) his support voted for him. I'm less able to compute why they would still vote for him.

Though I guess this kind of supporter are never gonna switch allegiance in a hurry:

Spoke to quite a few on my travels last year
Mostly it was the same as here when Blair came along promising everything. They thought it would be better, a man who cared, who would support the little man, who wasn't a career politician lining his pockets.

One we had a long chat with said: "The last great President we had was Reagan. We need someone to get tough with the russians". Bet he's disappointed now. He was a staunch Trump supporter, thought Obama was Muslim, not an american citizen, the full house of comments.

Quite a few I've spoken to since still haven't totally changed their mind, but some have, but the level of support is down, not as enthusiatic. The russian problem is an issue, not many seem to care about his finances or refilling the swamp.

There's still a few totally blinkered ones... wink

That's why they voted him in, the first none experienced politician, a business man no less, who could get people employed again making good money and feeling better off as a result.
They voted for him because a lot of them are genuinely this stupid...

Some voted for him because they were genuinely hurting. People in the Appalachians and in the rust belt who had seen their jobs disappear wanted a change, any change from another bunch of politicians. They clung to his lies because that was all they felt they had. The Clinton campaign took them for granted and didn't do what they needed to do to reassure them. They were the difference in the election. Others voted for him because they could vote for a democrat but not THAT democrat, usually for reasons that were spurious. Others voted for him because they will always vote republican. And some voted for him because unfortunately they are bigots who enjoyed his anti Muslim, anti immigrant rhetoric.

Report in Newsweek that Japan's First Lady, sat next to the Donald at the g20 dinner, pretended she couldn't speak English, or he assumed she couldn't and ignored her.

He's a lazy little fker. Previous presidents passed legislation by working bloody hard to formulate it and persuade people of it's merits. He can't even be bothered to learn the most basic parts of their plan and then wonders why he doesn't have enough support to get it through.
He was expecting to be president in the same way he's been a property developer. By letting everyone else do the work then sticking his name on it and smiling for the cameras when it's finished whilst pocketing his cut. Hasn't quite gone to plan though - nobody could know how hard it would be!

Keep an eye on Cobb as well, said to be very unhappy.
MSNBC reported yesterday that Trump’s newest attorney Ty Cobb called a meeting with Trump yesterday and got him to agree not to speak with the media any further about the Russia scandal. Trump then immediately did an interview with the New York Times in which he extensively discussed the Russia scandal.

Mueller remit was the Russian hacking of the election, but by taking over the financial investigation of Manafort, it opens up the financial investigation of those connected. No wonder Trump threatened Mueller about looking. It's all about the money, dodgy loans and the source from russian money laundering?

I wonder what the Trumpettes will say about their messiah seeking ways to pardon himself and his family from any prosecution. Probably along the lines of "Witch hunt..."

Surely if he's got nothing to hide, as he's constantly said... MInd you he'd then release his taxes, but for some reason he doesn't want the investigations to see these either, with his legal team doing their best to block everything, just like they tried to block testimony from people connected...

Isnt that just admitting guilt? hehe

This really is better than any sitcom. He really thought he would be CEO of American didnt he! He thought he could do anything he damn well pleased and everyone would bow to him like they do in his golden tower. He didnt even think that they do that because he is responsible for their paycheck.

Anthony Scaramucci, a Wall Street financier and longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, has been engaged in talks to join the White House communications shop, two White House officials said.

Scaramucci, who is a frequent TV surrogate for Trump, is liked by the president. Trump "thinks he is really good at making the case for him," one of these people said. "He loves him on TV."

Oh please let him get in, could you imagine the questions...

"I hear the President was very annoyed with the latest talk of scandal. Was there thunderbolt and lightning?"
"The president says he's the best, the greatest dancer. Can he do the Fandango?"

etc etc
