And after that brief intermission, we return to our regular programming.
First, Trump has said he won't be going to the WH correspondents' dinner. Traditionally the President goes, and takes a light hearted roasting in good spirits as well as handing one out. In recent memory only Reagan has missed it, once, when he was recovering from having been shot.
Ought Trump to have sucked this one up or is he right to boycott it? Should he have said why he wasn't going or is silence enough?
Secondly, the Oscars tonight will inevitably have some speeches rich with anti-Trump rhetoric. Inevitably some will say actor should shut up full stop, but the First Amendment says otherwise, so suck it up. If Trump fires off a twitter salvo in the morning, is that the right thing for him to do? Should he just shut up instead?
Thirdly, he said at the end of last week he wants to ramp up the US's nuclear arsenal to put it "at the top of the pack" when it comes to nuclear weapons. But the US already - comfortably - has more nukes than any other nation. So WTF is he on about?

Apparently not, at least according to something I was reading yesterday which I now can't find. Something like 7500-8000 vs 5500-6000 (from memory) including everything - deployed, undeployed, the lot. It only counts if its from a loony right wing news site: http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/20...

1. I think he is right for Trump to give it a miss. He would just take a hammering, and he knows it so I think a diplomatic flu is his only option...the loss of face in missing it is probably nothing compared to the loss of face he'd endure by being there First, Trump has said he won't be going to the WH correspondents' dinner. 2. He should suck it up, shut up and accept that the movie world fking hates him. If he can learn to accept that with quiet dignity, he might get somewhere.
3. Not a clue! But it'll be a beautiful thing...really fantastic, I'm sure.
