Yeah, sound bites and all that. The standard "knock Clinton" narrative that seemed to be the standpoint of anyone GOP. It is like listening to Pavlov's dogs when her name is mentioned. You can play a tune with the crowds by mentioning certain people in the right order. Altogether now, Clinton Obamma Obamma Clinton Sanders....

However, despite the chants of "she will be in jail" etc. there was always the one small issue of a fair trial. This goes for Flynn as well, despite the speculation, how serious can this be for the T man? Time will tell?

Well depends if Trump actually was involved. I somehow (despite his utter lunacy) think he is possibly smart enough to have not been or at least distanced himself a hell of a long way - 'I dont want to know lalalalala' etc when people may have tried to tell him what they were up to - plausible deniability and all that.

Buuuuutttt......I dont think Flynn would ask for immunity unless he has a real possibility of taking down a whale though. Not sure who it is at this point.

Fun times ahead for the Republicans! I think it will be interesting to see how far this goes and if the Republicans will put the country before their party if required. If they have evidence dont remove the person (or if its Trump, impeach him), there will be HUGE turmoil/riots I think.

I get the impression that luck plays a part here. Pick candidate A, seems a nice fellow. Hates Clinton. Oh, wait a minute, stepped on a crack in the pavement. Better let him go. Didn't see that coming.

etc.

Sage words. We all remember how the EU closed down Charlie Hebdo, right?

Deputy WH chief of staff Katie Walsh has been fired by Trump following the healthcare debacle. Bad news for Reince Priebus who is seriously wounded as he hand picked her and she followed him from the RNC. Can't be too long before Priebus follows her through the door.
Fired? Some reporting that it was a consensual move..... (Although Trump says that about ALL his moves.....)

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-deputy...
Of course she was fired. Serves 2 purposes. Creates a scapegoat for the healthcare fiasco and weakens Preibus who Bannon wants rid of.
She's gone to work for a pro-trump campaign group....that doesn't sound like a firing to me. Yes, maybe it was mutually agreed that it would be better if she worked elsewhere and she was moved sideways. But nothing I've read suggests that it was an acrimonious split.
That's the sort of crap that sirjerks would write
John Cardillo - Fox reporter stated that she was fired for the leaks and was exscorted from the building, status immediately revoked.

Also he believes this is partly a move to remove Reibus shortly.

Lock him up , lock him up!
Flynn 2016 "Lock her up, Lock her up"
Flyn 2017 "I'll Talk, I'll Talk, just don't lock me up"

He's already retroactively registered with the U.S. government as a foreign agent, effectively confessing to a past crime, trying to mitigate charges. Now he's asked for immunity, suggesting he knows they have something on him and it's going to be bad for him, so is trying to cut a deal.

It's not currently been accepted, which means they don't think he has the dirt on the Donald?

Then you've two or possibly three white house aides reported as giving Nunes the surveillance evidence that he took to Trump. Why would aides have to go that route, surely they could go straight to the Donald, unless its the whitehouse trying to launder evidence to the house committee.

Nunes is now damaged goods politically, as are several people Trump associates with. Thats probably more to do with Republicans distancing themselves from him.

Meanwhile Ivanka comes in to shore up the Kushner team against the Bannon team. There's a whole infighting going on between the moderate, social reforming Kushner and the dark lord Bannon

So Flynn has offered to testify to the Senate investigation insisting he has a story to tell, asking for immunity from prosecution, which so far has been declined. That suggests the FBI haven't made a deal with him and he's in deep trouble as they believe they have something against him that they can prosecute for.

The Senate investigation looks like its going to be a proper, non political investigation, leaving the House investigation dead in the water. N unes is again in trouble over his trip to the Whitehouse as The New York Times has reported that Ezra Cohen-Watnick of the National Security Council and Michael Ellis of the White House Counsel's office were the likely sources of information given to House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) about incidental surveillance of the Trump transition team. White House Leaks that Trump was so against, well when they are about him.

So yesterday was an interesting day on the Senate investigation.

Sen. Marco Rubio's reveled that his former campaign staff was targeted by hackers with Russian IP addresses

The republicans have avoided any of Trumps allegations of leaks and wiretapping, concentrating on what russian hacking may do to the upcoming european elections

Sean Spicer announced that the House and Senate investigators were invited to the White House to review information that will show that Trump's aides' communications were picked up in intelligence collection. Schiff has asked for the documents be sent to the senate investigation avoiding any attempt of political ambush. There's also accusations that the White house are laundering evidence, especially with the assistance of Nunes. You have to ask - why did two Whitehouse Aides, no doubt with access to the President, have to gibve the documents to a House investigation chairman, to give to Trump...

Senate have a list of 20 witnesses and 7 permanent staff on the investigation

Clint Watts was an interesting witness, stating that Trump and his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort spread Russian propaganda on the campaign trail last year -- whether they knew it or not and afterwards told a reporter when asked if Trump and his team knowingly did this said that he could not answer that question because it was likely to come up in their investigation.

It is reported he said "unfair prosecution"?

At the moment I am reading this as the flack the GOP dished out on Clinton sort of unfair.

Edit. Apols for the snip.

I wouldn't get too excited about Flynn and the prospect of blowback onto the orange bullstter with tiny hands. If the last few decades are indicative of anything it's that the orange bullstter is capable of avoiding prosecution.

It's his "belief" that she was sacked. He also thinks Podesta made £35m from links with Russia. Looking at some of his tweets he looks like he's from the Alex Jones school of journalism.

Well it is fox news. Source of many of Trumps claims, however interesting that one of it's reporters isn't following the stations supportive line on Trump

I was assuming there was some Truth in it as Breibart are reporting the complete opposite biggrin

I have been watching some Fox news reports (along with MSNBC, CNN etc) on you tube over the past few months and I have been pleasantly surprised that Fox, even though it is labelled as "pro-Trump") has not been 100% gung-ho on everything he says and does.

I really think that the comment he made about the "media being the enemy of the people" stung them too and they felt that was a comment too far.

In particular, I have come to like and respect the reports being made by Chris Wallace.

Hmm, you seen a trifle agitated. One man's bks, as you so neatly put it, is another's truth. Stopping freedom of expression, like it or not, is so EU.
Agitated? No, not at all. But if you think that 'denying' the deaths of children is freedom of expression then I pity you.

Agreed.

they have had some interesting coverage on the dismantling of obamacare, with some very critical views on the GOP/Reps on this subject
