Never underestimate the power of the X. Think I saw an info graphic somewhere that had "non voters" winning had they been counted as valid in an election. That is neither Mrs C or Mr T would have got the top job.

I like the idea of "none of the above", but what do you do with it? I have heard some appalling speeches at counts where the turnout didn't make 40% but a win is a win. The politician will go on to make a speech extolling the virtues of the electorate putting them in power. The stupid gimps will not see the many that couldn't bothered and their mandate was based of bit more than 20% (in some cases).

Politicians across the world see it as a big win as long as they are not taken to task over the turnout figures.

Wonder what Putins was?

So 100 days isn't important but he's spending $1.5m putting out an advert about how well he has done in those 100 days.....

Also on CNN: http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/01/media/john-dickers...

Trump ends an interview because he was asked to give an opinion.

Dickerson: "I'm asking you because you don't want it to be fake news. I want to hear it from President Trump."
Trump: "You don't have to ask me. You don't have to ask me."
Dickerson: "Why not?"
Trump: "Because I have my own opinions, you can have your own opinions."
Dickerson: "But I want to know your opinions. You're the president of the United States."
Trump: "That's enough. Thank you. Thank you very much."

Unreal.

Having been the only leader to congratulate Erdogan (and express some admiration of Kim Jong-Un!) he's now invited fellow despot Duterte to visit the USA. Ivanka's current promotion of the new Trump Tower in Manila is purely coincidental...

Dirty Duterte says he's busy..... biggrin

I think he realises he's better off cosying up to China than the US.

Ooofff! Uncomfortable report card for Trump here: http://edition.cnn.com/2017/05/01/politics/donald-...

Not least because it's his own words that have fked him hard and repeatedly.

Is there anyone not banned from this thread who's still supporting Trump?

Quite depressing to see him undo Michelle Obama's Let Girls Learn program
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/u...
as it seems to be driven purely by ego and a desire to have the best brand out there.

Good question. If the ignomity of being the runner up (the least dickish one of a race of dicks) then maybe a segway into sortition?

He's certainly driven by something, I once flirted with the idea that he may be a breath of fresh air, a change or something new, sadly the bunny is hollow. Didn't think the USA could get anymore fked than it was already.

Very depressing. He's also going to wind back the school lunch regulations that were introduced by the Obama administration and championed by Michelle. The childhood obesity situation here is critical but Trump isn't bothered by that. He's just determined to crush any advance made by the Obama's. It's truly disgusting.

Entirely off topic, but sortition strikes me as the only way of getting rid of the House of Lords without ending up with another chamber filled with identikit 'professional' politicians picked by party head offices for their malleability rather than any professional expertise or independence of thought, which is what an elected 2nd chamber would be.

Trump is having quite a bit of success in international relations and taming the axes of evil. Afghanistan got a MOAB and made Iran suddenly less vocal. North Korea has quietly paused its nuclear testing after pressuring China to pressure NK. And Hamas is dropping its call for Israel destruction for the first time in over a quarter of a century. The anti-Trump obsessives will be tearing their hair out!

confused

The MOAB appears to have achieved good PR but little else. NK is publishing movies of the White House being nuked and how exactly is Iran ""less" vocal?

Don't think you can measure international relations in a snap shot in time. It is nteresting to see which way this is going and I really hope that North Korea does not get serious. Maybe he has called his bluff, though Kim has threatened to sink the US sub.

Edit. Speaking of which, seems another us official says the South Korea will not be getting a bill for the missiles.
