45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Vol 2
Discussion
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Comey's firing was part of a "deeply troubling pattern from the Trump administration," that appears to be linked to two other high-profile dismissals.
"They fired Sally Yates. They fired Preet Bharara. And they fired James Comey, the very man leading he investigation. This does not seem to be a coincidence," Schumer said shortly after the announcement, calling for a special independent prosecutor into the Trump campaign's ties to the Kremlin.
"Any person who he appoints to lead the Russian investigation will be concerned that he or she will meet the same fate as Director Comey," he said.

Trump Screamed at the TV
Roger Stone, one of the key suspects in the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation, spent the past weeks actively encouraging Donald Trump to fire James Comey according to Politico. So the Donald sought the counsel of one of the suspects in an active FBI investigation when it came to firing the head of the FBI.

beyond parodyFirst question to him would be "are you in any position to see information personally to be able to make that comment?"
In reference to him seeing info about naughty goings on.

Bets on The Donald appointing himself as the next FBI Head. I bet my mortgage that he will have asked the question as to whether that is constitutionally possible.
Perhaps they could appoint the new FBI director as a result of a televised competition chaired by Trump himself, the format being that each week, an ever-decreasing group of aspiring hopefuls divide into two teams to solve a variety of crime-fighting tasks, and each week Donald humiliates and then fires the most incompetent member of the losing team.Pure TV gold.

Not a good idea at this time to sack him but I guess we do not know the full story. On the face of it just adds fuel to the fire
We know the full storyHe was a Trump hero fighting the evil Hillary right up until he decided to investigate Trump for being a Russian stooge.
then we have no faith in his abilities...

On the other side of the coin, every Democrat on the planet wanted Comey fired back in November because he made Hillary lose. But now he is the most important man in Washington because Trump did fire him. Politics, it's all bullst.
Certainly interesting to see how fickle they are. mko9 said:

But then fire him closer to the event - i.e 5-6 months ago, not when he's just testified that there is an investigation ongoing into Trump (when Trumps letter declared there wasn't).
That's partisan politics at work and is to be expected.
However, only once before, ever, has an FBI director been fired. That was n 1993, President Clinton ousted William Sessions as FBI director after Sessions refused to voluntarily step down amid ethical concerns. It was the first and only time to happen in U.S. history - up to now.
Previously, Lyndon Johnson came under intense pressure to fire the founder and long time head of the FBI J Edgar Hoover. I always like Johnson's response -
"Better to have him inside the tent pissing out instead of outside the tent pissing in".
Trump should be aware of the power of the FBI chief.

Holy fk....who would have ever considered, before the election that a Republican would come out with the old, 'well he's bad but he's no Hitler.'Now he just needs to play jungle music at three in the morning
Spicer thinks Hitler's OK - or at least, not as bad as Assad.
So in order of "Badness", the Trump administration has publicly stated the following -
Bad - but not that bad - Donald Trump
Badder than Trump bit not as bad as Assad - Adolf Hitler
Badder than both Trump AND Hitler - Assad.
I'd like to know where they rank Stalin and Genghis Khan in their "Bad Guy Table".

Pol Pot on there somewhere? Maybe Idi, they should have a sliding scale. This week he is Ceaușescu bad, next week we expect a Mussolini with a hint of Napoleon.
Comey was apparently asking for more resources from Rod Rosenstein

Yeah, I know, fake news and all that.

Napoleon, the little man that could.
"Nothing could be more degrading to the former [Napoleon] and more flattering to the latter [Hitler]. The comparison is odious. On the whole Napoleon was inspired by a noble dream, wholly dissimilar from Hitler's... Napoleon left great and lasting testimonies to his genius—in codes of law and national identities which survive to the present day. Adolf Hitler left nothing but destruction"
