He's up. And first tweet out of the, er, trap is this:

Trump said:
'Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!'
I expect Jeff is dolefully plonking his wife's photo into an R-Kive box as I type.

On planet CNN, maybe. spin
Well reporting on what the US intelligence agencies discovered, as did many of the news agencies around the world, not just CNN.

The thing is, nobody outside of the Washington DC beltway cares. And the more time and energy Trump's opponents spend on this, the more counterproductive it is because it reinforces his supporters view that the Liberal Elite/MSM are out to get him.

A) I don't think that's true. The president of the world's greatest superpower (for now) is a matter of great interest around the world & B) the evidence against him ticking up a little more week by week represents a clear requirement for the fourth estate to do it's job properly.

Have a look at the link below. His "favourability" ratings still haven't dropped below 40%. They are much higher than they were during the bulk of his election campaign. Remember the campaign where he continually lied and lied and still won? he now has the benefit of continuing to lie whilst taking credit for all the good stuff that happens and at the same time blaming the bad stuff on "others"....All Im saying is that, the way things are going, he's going to win another term.

You obviously have a low regard for the sensibleness and intelligence of the average American.

I do, and it's based on facts.

1. They elected Trump
2. They believe Obama was a muslim.
3. His favourbaility ratings speak volumes.
4. Trump can make statements about Mexican drugs barons lobbing 60lb sacks of Cocaine over walls and not be treated like an absolute gibbering drooling moron .

[Maybe not the average... any country that can send men to the Moon and create Baywatch clearly aren't buffoons on average]

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Poll ratings are a notoriously poor indicator of anything other than what's happening today & if he wins another term, so what?

I'm interested in the debasement of the office of President & a very real possibility that it's occupant may yet be proven or not to have committed treason against his own country. Polls schmolls.

I think that is rather insulting to over 200 million people - to be honest.

Eventually, even those who voted for Trump will see what a piece of dogst he actually is and will take the appropriate action.

I always agreed with Winston Churchill's assessment of Americans - you can always rely on them to do the right thing - eventually.

It's not meant to be. As I alluded to in my original post, as a country the US has done some amazing things. However there are a statistically significant number of people who are, for want of a better phrase, thick. And I gave examples as to why i think that. I didn't even mention evolution.

And eventually the Sun will go supernova. However, based on the polls, Trump's core support seems to be holding up pretty well

I do hope. If you don't - you might as well give up. I'm an optimist at heart - and I try not to write off entire nations.

Due to the unique way the Presidential election collegiate system works a candidate can be sitting in the white house with only 23% of the popular vote. - http://www.npr.org/2016/11/02/500112248/how-to-win...

He's like the Spanish Inquisition.

Of course he has to win certain states that he never will, but it's a odd system to use.

A small-ish proportion of them might, but most of them are perfectly happy with him. Proud of him in fact. There seems to be no end to the slack they are willing to pay out to him, no limit to how much of their country's laws, conventions, ethics and standards they are willing to set fire to in order to allow him to create his vision of a Great America. For which read a return to the white-dominated isolationist free-for-all of decades past.

Scaramuchi has started deleting old tweets, specifically those where he supported Obama and criticised/insulted Trump and those where he's expressed a pro-choice, anti-gun views.

He was called out on it and said it was for 'transparency'. Seems like he'll fit into this administration just fine

The latest theory is that Trump will fire Sessions or Sessions will "resign" during August recess. Trump can then appoint a puppet successor who, because congress is in recess, can go to work without confirmation. He or she will then fire Mueller.

It sounds like the actions of a banana republic despot so that's probably how it will go down.

If he were to attempt that I think we would see millions of people on the street in unprecedented protest and the country would have a constitutional crisis.
