I'm really beginning to wonder how long this can go on for.

I mean we all knew it was going to be bad but this is just laughable. He seems to be spending his entire presidency either trying to prove that the press are liars or that the Democrats lied during both Obamas time in office and during the election campaign.

It might be nice if he concentrated a little bit more on the more important stuff. Start with North Korea maybe?

If you were involved in a legal matter regarding a contract would you get a solicitor that specialised in traffic matters or contract law?

No - he's just mad.

He IS trying to deflect by creating chaos - but the people who are carrying out the investigations are going about their business in a quiet and professional manner and won't be sidetracked by wallyish behaviour coming out of The White House.

All the nonsense spewing out of Trump's mouth and the mouths of his sycophants just underscores to me his complete idiocy in political matters and matters of state..

Trump is a showman. He thrives on how well he THINKS he is playing in the media. In that arena, he DOES know what he's doing. What he doesn't understand is that being President is not just about playing to the gallery.

It doesnt make any sense for him to make up a phone call. People wouldnt have ever known if one had or hadnt taken place.

The only reason he did it was because he was being criticised and presumably thought the Scouts wouldnt deny the call EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD APOLOGISED FOR HIS SPEECH!

He is absolutely mental.

He has the intellectual depth of a Petri dish.

It's hard to imagine how anyone with a majority in both houses could possibly do worse.

Possibly I'm giving him too much credit but, by making up the phone call it means that people have started looking at this and pointing out that it's a lie. They've turned away from the sacking of Scaramucci, which in itself was a move away from the sacking of Riebus, which in turn was a move on from Spicer.

Now...can anybody remember what Trump was being called out on before "Spicer"? I certainly can't and I'm beginning to think that it's a deliberate ploy by Trump, because he followed the same pattern during his election campaign. Every gaffe or moronic statement was usually followed by another one. And then almost immediately by another one. To the point where people have forgotten about the previous ones.

Either deliberately or accidentally he's a master of distraction. Mueller's task is like blu-tacking a very slimy piece of jelly to a wall.

If true (and it make sense) how fking tiring must his life be just covering his tracks!

I guess its how he has always lived, but before he was president no one knew about it and he was king anyway.

Russia - specifically the help received, as also documented in juniors emails, although it took them three attepts at spin and lies before that little bit of the truth came out, then we hear the fanta menace helped draft the adoption story, disregarding the advice from his team.

Trumpy knows best...

I think that's the point. He never bothers to cover his tracks. Every time he's challenged on previous lies he denies or deflects. You might remember some reporters trying to pin him down on starting the Birther conspiracy. Even when he was pinned down on it he simply lied again and said it was Hillary who started it......and then people started spending time/energy on disproving that load of tripe, by which time he'd moved on..... does that pattern sound familiar?

But you also have to remember that 43% of Republicans still believe that Obama is a muslim, If you have such a large core of people that refuse to accept such an obvious fact, what chance is there of convincing them that the other stuff that Trump says or denies is a lie?

I just remembered the trump tower tapping thing he said he had evidence of and blamed us/MI5 for!

There are too many scandals to remember them all. Its ludicrous.

hehe

Grim is an excellent example of a Trump supporter. He's not bothered that Trump lies at an Olympic level.

Trump professes to hate certain people. That makes Grim feel good because he hates them as well, and now he doesn't need to feel bad because it's ok to be openly racist/sexist/homophobic because "if you don't like it, suck it up snowflake! We WON!!"

I genuinely think that's why Trump came out with the "banning Transgender people from serving in the military policy.. Much like "building the wall" and "locking her up" it's not a "Policy" by any stretch of the imagination, and I doubt he has strong feelings about TG people, just as I doubt he has strong feelings about Mexicans, or muslims. BUT...He was under pressure and needed to rally "The Hate Brigade", and this is the only thing he could come up with on the spur of the moment.

Apologies for using the Birther thing as an example again . Let's be honest - some Americans people didn't like Obama because he was black. But it was difficult to admit that in public, so they needed another excuse, and the whole Birther thing was a perfect fig leaf. "It's not because we're a bunch of racists, there's a genuine reason why he shouldn't be Our President" etc etc etc.

Trump recognised this and Trump channelled it. By doing this he became a champion of the deplorables, and gradually what he has done is worked his way through various other groups - Mexicans, Muslims, women, and now Transgender people. And each time he does this he basks in the gratitude of people like Grim. And that gratitude and fawning is ALL that he craves.

Can behaving like this and using such fairly crude (in all senses of the word) tactics sustain his Presidency for another 3.5 years - let alone 7.5 years?

And when he goes back on things like saying his travel ban is about terrorism and not 'muslims', he is still stupid enough to leave the website link live on his site albeit the information has now been removed - it literally says donald-j.-trump-statement-on-preventing-muslim-immigration
