Meanwhile at Westminster:

“You’re not listening to Holyrood”
Well, Holyrood is the local parliament for local devolved issues, Westminster is for reserved international stuff.
“fk this, we’re out of here.”

Devolved assemblies having a say over this is the biggest red herring since all the other squirrels.

Likewise. According to WoS we're 'ultra-yoons'. laugh

Currently on 8% I believe. And probably rising after yesterday's shambles.

Me too. I voted against the pretendy parliament when I was asked. Does this mean my voice is continually being ignored?

One thing I will give SNP credit for, they are colossally expert at giving truth a hiding.

The result of their own actions where nothing to do with them being Scottish/SNP.

It's the equivalent of Ruth Davison taking a dump on Holyrood's doorstep and shouting about oppression of the English as she's carted away.

This is obvious to all but the most fervent and blinkered acolyte and is typical low politic behaviour. Not that the SNP have the monopoly on that of course, but this seems particularly flagrant and cynical.

They want to run a country and yet act like children. Shame on them.

The really stupid thing about is that the majority of Scots don't give a shiny ste about the issue the fuss is all over (including many separatists - a third of whom voted for Brexit, remember!)

Those who have it explained to them see it for what it is - politicians moaning about not being able to play politics.

Constitutional crisis my arse - Holyrood passed a vote on a motion it had no competence over (which national government made no fuss about - it just quietly started a legal process to have the position of non-competence confirmed) then the SNP stage a protest in parliament about the vote (correctly) being ignored.

Everyone concerned knew the rules before this started, which is why it just looks like petty connivance.

agreed, though it is no surprise given petty connivance is about all the snp are good for.

This made me smile a little, as its kinda the perfect analogy:

"It was like an argument on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, in which there is much confected outrage but no actual blows landed. Haud ma jaicket, as we say in the West of Scotland. That is hold my jacket, while I make efforts born of bravado, efforts which never come to anything, to strike this gentleman on the nose."

I'm slightly disappointed that this debacle has rather taken the spotlight away from the proposal to ban parking on pavements.

That's real government right there, SNP style.

Puts it very well.

To paraphrase the article, the tendency of the media to take the SNP at its own estimation is something that was already diminishing and the irony is that this stunt will have accelerated the process. There were bigger issues that they could have used this publicity to highlight, but just like when Nicola fired the starting gun on another referendum within hours of the Brexit result before backpedalling, they've blown the gaffe, and will just look more stupid and desperate the next time they pull something like this.

By rights the Presiding Officer in Holyrood should have deemed the SNP's Brexit bill non-competent and none of this would have happened, but the grievo-max reaction to that would have been boringly predictable. Instead we can look forward to the follow-up news in several months' time that the Supreme Court agrees that the devolved parliaments acted illegally.

Unfortunately it may take several more visits to the courts over other incompetencies before the PO will grow a pair and tell the SNP to fk off and stop wasting public money.

Kinda what I thought.

Respect does indeed go 2 ways. In the middle of PMW, they made a demand.

The speaker told them they could have it immediately after PMQ, but that wasn't good enough for the petulant child, so he's made himself and the rest of his party look like fools.

3000 new members? When? Have you just made that up, because it feels like it. The SNP themselves are claiming 1000, which I don't believe.

They've made themselves look very stupid, and shown that they don't actually care about the people of Scotland, it's all about cheap point scoring, which is why the SNP is dying.
I’d suggest watching a recording of the live video and read the official Hansard account, the mind plays tricks

And it’s 5085 new members now

The detail doesn't matter. It's the perception that matters. (You'd think the SNP would know this, it's usually their calling card).

The perception among normal people is the SNP are a bunch of contemptible fannies who'll do anything for a few column inches.

Except of course it turns out the SNP had sent a begging email to members who hadn't bothered renewing their membership, so not really "new" members are they? You really should stop assuming everyone is as gullible as you Strocky.

Beat me to it. They were late subscriptions renewals. Net membership is at its lowest since the 2014 referendum was called.

Precisely. Even their own supporters know the SNP lie but blind themselves to it or even openly argue it is worth the deception if independence can be achieved. It is becoming a theme though that when anything the SNP say or do is reported in the media it is couched in terms that question the veracity of their output, because they have been caught one-to-many times now trotting out complete bullst (see fracking 'ban' above for one very high profile example). It is the main reason the SNP are in a slow death spiral.

Other political parties get criticised for doing contemptible things, whereas the SNP get criticised for doing the opposite of what they claim to be doing.

Interestingly, there have been enough fud supporters to give the SNP 10 years in office (and counting). Are you suggesting that Scotland is consistently full of fuds confused

Despite their time in office, the SNP do not represent all of
Scotland, nor even a majority of the Scottish people. So Scotland does not have to be "full of fuds" in order for the SNP to be so.
