This very point was put to MacKay on BBC Scotland yesterday and he did what he always does - stick rigidly to a prepared answer that says nothing. MacKay has perfected the art of Orwellian doublethink - to state the opposite of the truth with conviction and keep repeating it.
Haha well if that works for him all the best - hopefully people can see through and make their own decisions (though cult SNP supporters will never ever see it)

It’s another cut!
Would be interesting to see the fact check on that.
It's okay, in a rare piece of inter-parliamentary and inter-party work, Ms Abbot has given his figures the all clear. Apparently they were 178% correct.

One of the key headlines in the budget

N Ireland get £350m and Wales c£500m

Also assuming that the Scottish Govt don’t increase the tax threasholds we might now see higher rate tax payers paying thousands more tax in Scotland v rUK.
Just have to maximise the pension contributions to minimise the tax take in that case...

He is an uneducated tt who got where he is by being a passive-aggressive belligerent tosser prepared to lie through his teeth. He's the SNP's Diane Abbot.

Got to hand it to him though - we can't have the truth undermining his false narrative now, can we?

Rising energy poverty sparks fears of a winter health crisis

https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/17198876.risin...

"The relentless increase in the cost of heating homes as the mercury dips has seen energy debts surge by nearly one-quarter on last year, according to a new report seen by The Herald."

How much did Scot Gov pay the power cartels when it was too windy to turn the turbines....was it £6 or £8 million PER DAY PER PRODUCER?...YET ANOTHER WELL THOUGHT OUT VANITY PROJECT FROM THE CLOWN HOUSE while the vulnerable fall prey to cold induced illness...

I got another fixed deal recently. Price from this autumn for a year is 25% higher than last year! Quite a lot to swallow.

Did you come up with the figure on the Brexit bus?
Also didn't the UK Gov end the subsidies in 2016?

"When Pete Wishart condemns Sturgeon’s position as “little more than an open invitation to have our national view ignored and disrespected all over again”; he must realise that Sturgeon closed the door, the people on the other side can’t waste time opening to hear a meaningless rhetoric being spewed out."

Apologies I was laughing too much at

https://glasgowunihumanrights.blogspot.com/2018/10...

Aye, it might have well to do with the £8 million, per day, to each supplier [in Scotland] every time the wind blows too hard.....

BTW I'm a ex turbine tech so dinna bother with the pish, the whole industry [in Scotland] is built like a house of cards.

Which, I have to say, is criminal, as the ideal and tech is fantastic.

Just read the article again, missed this first time round:

“Under the terms of a 1998 deal, a No vote result on Sunday may not spell the end of the independence drive. Two further referendums on independence can still be held before 2022.”

New Caledonians are doing it better than the originals. At least they’re up front about the neverendum and not claiming “once in a lifetime”.

Yes really.

Meanwhile Scottish Governance carried on in full flow. or not.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-po...

Scottish Enterprise has invested just £500,000 from a £10m fund that is supposed to help businesses grow, a Holyrood committee has revealed.

MSPs said they were concerned that the funds from the Scottish-European Growth Co-Investment Programme had not yet been used.....

...A spokesman for Scottish Enterprise said: "We remain dedicated to stimulating inclusive economic growth in Scotland using all of the support mechanisms available to us, and are working with companies the length and breadth of the country to grow and expand their operations."
