Cracking read indeed, thanks very much smile
Ineeded, enjoyed this bit especially.... hehe

"Another was a press interview with Alex Salmond, in which Salmond claimed that the role model for his career had been Nelson Mandela. This makes me wonder if Salmond had read Mandela’s biography backwards, as Salmond seems to be living the same life in reverse. Mandela began by spending 27 years in jail, and then sought to bury hatchets, end the culture wars, paper over ethnic differences, and do his utmost to unite various peoples under a stable and inclusive regime. Salmond began by doing his utmost to balkanise a stable and inclusive regime, exacerbate ancient ethnic differences, start a culture war over nothing, dig up old hatchets, and now faces 27 years in jail."

Deltona's view is not wrong. And there's nothing to debate re. the EU's letter.
So you accept that the EU Commission's position that if Scotland becomes independent - it is out of the EU.
Yes. That is crystal clear.
Great! Do you see the untenable position of the SNP still wanting independence whilst complaining about leaving the EU?
Yeah, but..

They think they'll have an instapass straight back in and here's a Billionty euros for being fab chaps.

I see my post listing SNP sleaze has been removed. Not sure why as it's all on record, maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the phrasing...

Salmond - in court for attempted rape
Sturgeon - allegedly covering up her homosexuality
McGarry - convicted of embezzlement
McNeil - admitted fondling a 17yo and pumping the SNP bike
Hosie - affair with the SNP bike whilst married
Yousaf - fined for no car insurance
Mason - refuses to represent constituents

I'm sure I have forgotten some. This is the sleaze list. The list of ineptitude, to include gems such as offensive singing, named persons, baby boxes, airport purchases, ferry building etc I'll leave to someone else.

Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh - found guilty of professional misconduct and fined £3,000.
Mark McDonald - former Childcare Minister who resigned after admitting sexual harassment charges.

BTW - does Hosie get points off for getting a divorce and then marrying the SNP bike?

Damn, how could I forget Tasmina? rolleyes:

Is she still doing that wooden but a bit sexy presenting gig on Salmond's tv show? Or is it binned while he deals with his 'issues'?

Bill "Boom Boom" Walker the Dunfermline Destroyer- SNP member convicted of 23 charges of domestic violence and jailed for 12 months . Despite SNP party being warned 3 years prior to him becoming an MSP of his violent conduct .
There's that new kind of politics again.

4/10 for effort, these are hardly major acts of criminality, Salmond is entitled to be seen as innocent
until proven otherwise, fondling a willing 17 year old is not illegal, and Sturgeon's alleged variable
sexuality is her business.

None of it's criminality, I left that for another list. But sleaze brought down the Tories back in the day, and much of that was really pretty tame shagging based stuff, Major, Mellor et al. Plus some money stuff like Hamilton. It seems the SNP are much the same, yet for some reason escape the scrutiny.

I couldn't really give a fk what they get up to in private, it's the double standard I can't abide.

We can revisit the list in a few months though...

Help ma boab, the Scottish government actually doing the day job.

Oh, they've only banned heading the ball for schoolkids playing football, the first country in the world to do so.
Still, it's a start, makes one proud eh ?

Funnily enough, way back when I was a young'un a "heed the ball" (said in a Geordie accent) was a reference to someone ridiculously stupid.

They are cut from the same cloth as any other nationalist. I think they get away with being scrutinised in the media because they appear to be progressive on the face of it.

On the subject of trying to win over No voters, I saw this the other day...

I saw the start of it and thought, "Great - finally something fresh and interesting to try and win us over. Do they have an answer on the currency, perhaps? Scotland's trading future with the rUK? Perhaps a realistic assessment of how much it would cost to set up a new country?"

Nope. Nothing but the same old pish.

It's hard to escape the conclusion that if they can't persuade us to vote independence, they're just going to browbeat us into submission until we do.

It has never occurred to the SNP that the majority of voters did chose their future, in 2014, a future within the UK .

Will it ever sink in you wonder.

They’re the first in Europe, not the world, the USA has had a ban in place for some time.

I’m not an SNP fan, could probably say I detest them, but the SFA are not the Scottish Government.

Seemingly not, until the fishy party get the result they want!

Unless voters remove them.

A whole list of stuff about SNP and their members past and present baffles me... Why anyone votes for them supersede's
the lot.

'fregawd'....Is that not 'eggy' language for fraud?

Well precisely. The SNP keep stating that Boris is being undemocratic by not allowing the Scots to have another referendum.
Actually, the opposite is true. What is undemocratic is failing to accept the result of the first one.

I can accept many things in a political party. What I cannot accept is if they adopt an undemocratic policy, since it undermines everything that elected politicians are supposed to be about.

Of course, some will say (Deltona S style) "there was imperfect information, so the result isn't valid." Nonsense; there's always hyperbole and wild claims flying around in any election. It's just the way it is. Anyone who thinks that Unionists tell fibs but Nationalists are totally truthful is deluded.
