Bloody racist! Is it becoz I is English?
Isn't it utterly AMAZING how the discussion on Scottish politics and the independence debate has managed to remain in the one thread for over six years now.
Wouldn't it be GREAT if other topics could be kept to their threads and not pollute the place like Coronavirus....
PS. My point about the SNP wanting a re-run of a democratic vote is because they lost! Any links to Brexit are purely opportunist.

It possibly could, but it would have to be printed backwards, because he would not be able to see it, or even understand it unless he looked at it in a mirror! Just sayin
I guess you are thinking in terms of the painting entitled `When did you last see your old man / father' type of thing?
Scotland's problem isn't 'Toaree austerity', it is SNP waste.
Taxpayer-funded Gaelic quango a £5m 'disaster'.
How the £100m Ferguson’s shipyard scandal is only getting worse.
£5milion would have gone a long way of getting (SNP-led) Glasgow City Council out of the financial black hole it is currently in because of the equal pay settlement.
£100 million (as the article says) "should actually go a long way in devolved Scotland. Hundreds of classroom assistants… relief for councils facing another agonising round of cuts… a bit of pressure off NHS staff… something left over for island communities…"
Sorry thing is rather than cut and run with the ferries (and sit tight and wait for Brexit to do away with the procurement rules) they have decided to plough on, with no formal plan or guarantee of success and, at this stage, a projected doubling of the cost. About the only bright-side to the debacle is that the SNP have burned one of their biggest benefactors in the process.
But it is all Westminster's fault, apparently.
PS. Stormont collapsed over less!

I see my post listing SNP sleaze has been removed. Not sure why as it's all on record, maybe I didn't pay enough attention to the phrasing...
Salmond - in court for attempted rape
Sturgeon - allegedly covering up her homosexuality
McGarry - convicted of embezzlement
McNeil - admitted fondling a 17yo and pumping the SNP bike
Hosie - affair with the SNP bike whilst married
Yousaf - fined for no car insurance
Mason - refuses to represent constituents
I'm sure I have forgotten some. This is the sleaze list. The list of ineptitude, to include gems such as offensive singing, named persons, baby boxes, airport purchases, ferry building etc I'll leave to someone else.
I've had posts removed, must be a few sensitive souls on here that struggle to deal with the facts when you point them out.... Salmond - in court for attempted rape

A good article on Nicola's latest plans-

"You may worry for your child’s education, an elderly parent’s operation or the financial health of your small business. You may be for or against independence, or still undecided, but reckon that it is not the most pressing matter for ministers’ attention. Know that you are wholly out of touch with those who rule over you. For them, independence is all — and all you will get out of them until they get it."

Daisley's writings on Scottish politics and independence are excellent - his sardonic wit is second-to-none.The tone of this piece is very different though and he absolutely sums up the growing depression felt by those who know that the SNP's obsession with independence is harming Scotland, not just reputationally with Blackford's inane repetitiveness in Parliament making us look like a bunch of selfish teenagers, but with the total lack of attention being paid to governance.

This is what charges them, what gets the blood up. Flags and symbols. Imaginary statistics and imaginary racism. Bravehearts and sell-outs. Nicola Sturgeon sits at the apex of this grand victimhood complex, this stirring of animus and poking of wounds passing for a respectable political movement.
These are not progressives or idealists or radicals. They are callous ideologues who have sacrificed the well-being of people they will never have to look in the eye to pursue the only thing they ever have or ever will give a damn about. They love Scotland but only on their terms. The nation must change to earn their ardour.
It is hard to dispute that they have captured the hearts of a large minority of Scots, many of whom are to be found suffering among the bulging statistics of 13 years of indifference and incompetence.
Each and every Nationalist has to bear the responsibility for this. I anticipate the whitabootery from Strocky or the flippant denial from Edinburger, but the SNP took the decision to rename the Scottish Executive the Scottish Government. They gave themselves the title so maybe it is about time they assumed the mantle too? These are not progressives or idealists or radicals.
