Snap General Election?
Discussion
Well I started a thread as well but it appears you beat me to it by 2 minutes!
Surely it has to be something very serious like a resignation, election, second referendum (Brexit or Indy) or something big going down with Syria or North Korea.
Other possibilities are the Queen or another senior Royal having snuffed it, but you would expect that to be announced by the Palace surely?

Appears so, the backdrop of No10 is used when they business. Cameron used it to back the remain side for the Referendum and was heavily criticised."Theresa May will make a rare speech from the steps of No 10 after meeting her Cabinet this morning.
The Prime Minister has only spoken from Downing Street on two occasions - on arriving for the first time at No 10 and in the aftermath of the Westminster terror attack. "
"The government has decided that Brexit is a completely ridiculous idea and would be a catastrophic disaster for the country, therefore I have revoked article 50. I have asked the Queen for a dissolution of parliament and subject to repeal of the Fixed Term Parliaments act, there will be a General Election on 25 May"

As if...I just hope the news isn't the Queen dying... can't face months of indulgent public grieving if she has finally popped off. Though it would be preferable to an announcement of military action overseas.
There seems to be some speculation that she may be in poor health and announcing her resignation... which would surely have to lead to a GE anyway.

I think the protocol is that the palace announces (at 7am if the death has been overnight)I just hope the news isn't the Queen dying... can't face months of indulgent public grieving if she has finally popped off. Though it would be preferable to an announcement of military action overseas.
