You missed the sarcastic tone of my response. "Oh, well in that case" pointing out the absurdity of DavePoths argument. Either his argument is wrong about what having a photo taken with somebody means about your own ethics or Jimmy Saville is a war criminal. He is yet to confirm which one it is.

Show me some evidence that he "condones torture, terrorism and murder through the use of knee-capping (drilling through someone's knees in case you wondered), nail bombs and summary executions". Some actual hard evidence that he supports those things. "Oh, well he met with this or that person" does not count.
I think it does. Generally speaking, normal people don't take selfies with people they consider to be war criminals. Edited by JawKnee on Monday 24th April 21:55
What makes the difference with Savile was that at the times that both of those photographs were taken there was nothing but rumour and innuendo surrounding his activities.
Corbyn's photo with Adams was when he was at his most active in the Troubles (by the looks of the hairstyles), Chavez' activities were well known by that point, as were the words spoken by Dyab Abou Jahjah, which dated back to just after 9/11.
That doesn't forgive Thatcher - her attitude towards Pinochet was beyond the pale regardless of how much Chile might have helped us in the Falklands. But Corbyn has displayed extremely bad judgement in terms of which global leaders he has endorsed.
The other thing that's worth remembering is that while Blair, Brown and Thatcher were meeting horrible world leaders as part of diplomatic efforts (holding their noses while they did it to some extent), Corbyn was doing it because he wanted to - there wasn't a Whitehall mandarin prodding him to do it.
Corbyn hosting the IRA leadership at the Palace of Westminster just four days after they had tried - and failed- to assassinate the British Prime Minister at Brighton is especially shameful. He truly is a disgusting dirtbag.

sadly its the job of people in power to meet with people they dont like.
On wednesday after PMQ Theresa May will be meeting (and, no doubt having a photo) with J-C Juncker. Its after lunch, so he'll be pissed aand possibly very...hands on...

Telegraph poll this morning saying Conservation majority of near 150 seats.
JC cannot win with his current policies
Refusing to personally commit to Trident replacement - makes him look weak on Defense and Security
His comments on Defense that he could NEVER send troops into battle ...
Total lack of Finance policy - has gone with a very traditional "Tax higher and spend higher" - this is an electorate that have twice voted for austerity, who fundamentally understand we are living beyond our means and are deeply uncomfortable with that - there is NO WAY this UK is going to vote for more debt.
Any uncosted promise "to save social care" is empty and meaningless from JC - its all rainbows and unicorns until someone asks him, where will the money come from, and then right there in that moment, you can witness EXACTLY why Corbyn will never make PM - he simply doesn't understand the question, never mind have a solution. Put taxes up - other people can afford it.
TM doesn't really have to do anything in this campaign. Manage the set pieces well, don't make any major gaffes, kiss a few babies, sound credible on economics, brexit and defense and boom it is in the bag.
Farron is an irrelevance.
I am looking fwd to the Conservatives winning five or so seats in Scotland

No offence, but I'm not the sort to make financial transactions with strange men on the internet. Must be a sordid Tory thing.
You could even donate your winnings to charity given how confident you supposedly are, but of course you're all about bullst and trolling (no one in their right mind could come up with half the crap you do), not credible debate. Why do you want to close down the debate?
How boring would this thread be if it was just like minded Conservative voters posting links to everything Labour does that they disagree with?
If the Conservatives have already got this won, why are you so intolerant of other people's views? Is it like that competitive dad off the fast show?
I'm not sure how I am going to vote yet, so seeing both sides of the argument is useful to me. I am also perfectly capable of filtering the bullst from both sides.
Does nobody have an irrational fear that, despite all the polling, Labour might win?
Trump was given no chance and look what happened there. Similar with Le Pen in France. Either of those getting anywhere near a position of power would have been thought laughable a few years ago.
I keep thinking to myself 'surely it can't happen, the British people aren't that stupid' but then I think of Trump and go 'Hmmmmmm'.

Brexit. You're forgetting Brexit. That definitely wasn't going to happen was it? In fact that's why we're having this election isn't it?Trump was given no chance and look what happened there. I find it slightly odd that Labour's declared highest priority for their policy on Brexit is to protect the rights of citizens of other countries.
Call me old fashioned if you like, but I prefer our government to put our nation's rights first.
Edited to clarify. Don't want JK jumping on it.

Labour must have realised that realists won't vote for them, so they are now fighting with Lib Dems/Greens for the idealists Call me old fashioned if you like, but I prefer our government to put our nation's rights first.

It means that Labour should be worrying about the rights of the British people in the EU before they worry about the rights of the citizens of EU countries who live in the UK.
And how will they do that?BigMon said:

No. None. There's more chance of the skeleton of Karl Marx rising up out of his grave at Highgate Cemetery and cycling round to Jeremy's to make potato jam than Labour getting within forty seats of the Tories.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
