A terrible campaign and still beat Corbyn by 50 seats despite his blatant bribes to sections of the population!

It's certainly far from ideal, but certainly far better than the alternatives.
Surely a minority government is better?

I suppose we'll see what the deal is when we get to a queen's speech.

Not one run by Marxists who would crash the UK into a wall of economic pain (as just ONE example)

You need to focus on the 2nd column - that's the one that mattered - your side lost!

I think some people will be interested. If you aren't you're free to just ignore. Or use a few seconds of your life telling me you aren't interested. Up to you.

Similar to the way in which large sections of the print media brainwash old, white, often overweight and sad, men.

Do they, though?

They'll try and influence, but that is very different to brainwashing. Print media, I suspect, has very little influence nowadays. As I've said in another thread, younger people are easy to manipulate. An adult can see the same stories over and over again and probably work out where the truth lies. Younger people are a lot more naive.

Now, though, everything is digital and it's an enormous platform for influencing people. Hence, Facebook is worth $350b!! (according to CNN money) And why Youtube content is riddled with sponsored content or product placement, Or why Snapchat, Instagram, Whatsapp etc are all worth billions

I think we've generally underestimated the power of social media. It's not all ice bucket challenges raising millions for charity, it's given everyone a platform to spread their beliefs and biases and some of it is doing nothing towards educating the younger generations.

Interested. Not much succor for the Cons in there, except that buying the student vote might turn them around. And the second GE voting indicators defy the conventional wisdom that a rerun consolidates the leading party's position. Maybe the rule book really does need a rewrite.

BREAK: DUP has NOT yet reached any agreement with the Tories. Sky sources: Downing Street issued the wrong statement in error.

I read somewhere else that they can't have a formal coalition as that would nullify the good friday agreement, so an informal confidence and supply one is being sought.

Tinfoil hat:
- Tories panic on Friday morning and do a deal with DUP
- Future Tory leader proves why she should be the future leader by being authentic and calling them out on the stupidity of aligning with the DUP
- Tory party realise it's suicidal for the long-term, but if they act quick they can pin this one final mistake on May
- More backroom deals happen
- DUP announce there is no deal

It's what I would do anyway.

We need another election because a Tory or Labour govt won't be able to push through any of their radical ideas when it comes to voting.

I could envisage Labour getting another 20 seats in there was another election this year.
