Seems Farron has just self imploded by refusing to say that gay sex isn't a sin on Robert Peston's program https://twitter.com/DMcCaffreySKY/status/856079066...
Excellent! there's a number of his vociferous supporters who, at this very moment, are eating their hats chewing on their pillows.....
FTFY smileyikes
I haven't seen the interview but he's already said he doesn't have any issues with people being gay - it's not a sin.

If journalists want to demonstrate impartiality they just put the same questions to other Christians including Theresa May - where does Farage stand on this?

Regardless, one has to draw a line on how far you go in answering this stuff or else it just goes all Borat...
EG: So, if you didn't believe in sex, does you believe in French kissing? What about handjobs or oral?

It would make for an interesting live TV debate with all leaders asked the same questions

He doth protest too much? Maybe he loves the cock?
There's history in the LDs; Mark Oaten was in the running to be leader in 2006 when he was revealed to be sharing a bed with male prostitutes who were not his wife. hehe

To be fair, it could have been worse for Oaten if his wife turned out to be a rent boy hehe

Spectator has the knives out for Corbyn and some old friends: https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/05/jeremy-corby...

I guess that the tories don't really need to be dragging all that up as they have a decent lead already but I wonder if some in the Labour party will try and use it to get rid of him ?

Utterly disgusting. Care to elaborate?

There are so many things in the quoted statement (and link) that you could be disgusted by, which one are you referring to?

The article was published last year. Before he was was reelected.

But it's true that some within the Labour party have tried to use such things against him, just not enough of them. If they can't get the rules changed for the amount of MP nominations an incumbent leader is required to have they are stuck with a left winger rather than a blairite.

Farron has never hid his Christian beliefs so does it really matter what is personal views on gay sex is? Afterall, there is no suggestion from anyone that there are any Lib Dem policies that are 'anti-gay' and Farron himself voted in favour of allowing gay marriage.

So he doesn't have the minerals to back up his conviction?

I would imagine that most, if not all, politicians have some personal views which are not 100% aligned with their party's policies.

To me it seems he thinks it is wrong as a Christian, but he thinks religion and government should be kept separate. So he votes for what the people he is representing want, despite disagreeing with it personally. In theory May is doing the same on Brexit.

It is interesting that some brexiteers (well most here it seems) - can't bear to talk about or even admit to any bad news on brexit. This is becoming part of the story.
That is true. In the same way you cannot admit to a good news story about it. Despite the (so far?) lack of major problems, particularly compared to the collapse of the country predicted before the vote.

May didn't want Brexit. Should she not go through with it?

Plenty of politicians are supporting policies because the public or their party want them rather than the policy being the views or beliefs of the politicians themselves.

I thought it was amusing that during his World At One interview he criticised people for being ideological and not listening to the arguments, especially since, when asked how he'd vote, he said Labour, I'll always vote Labour.

Because no one's offered to pay him enough money to do so.
