That's a different issue, that's why the prices are what they are. (I bet for a living plus I've also worked as a bookie literally taking bets and setting the prices in response to £ volume of bets.)

What I look for is something that indicates the prices (set by weight of money) may be wrong. In the case of Brexit that volume (number) of bets I believe was just such an indicator. I don't generally bet on politics though so profess no expertise, just thinking aloud.

And as for polling companies, I don't understand why they are still in existence and people take any notice of them. Shocking track record.

Anyway, I've laboured (!) the point enough and I do generally agree with others it is insignificant here as Labour don't have a hope in hell of getting most seats. I will be astonished if May doesn't increase her current majority at the very least.

What I think was missing with Brexit is that Conservative/Brexiteers tend not to be the sort of people that place bets, compared with the typical labour voters. So loads of bets on Brexit indicates something, whereas lots of bets on Corbyn tells you little. Especially when you plug the odds into the mix too.

Yeah that's probably why there are literally NO BETTING SHOPS in my constituency which was one of the strongest Conservative and Brexit areas. Completely deluded

I got election material in the letterbox, the front has photos of Trump's, May's and Farage's faces looking grumpy and all placed next to one another with a 'This is what you are voting for' message.

Considering Farage and the Tories are sworn enemies, this material is ridiculous.

Venezuela - Maduro is a lunatic lefty, condoning (ordering?) violent responses by the authorities to protestors and cracking down on dissent in his country, people killed by the police / army. Fact.

Are you honestly saying you won't admit that right-wingers have massacred innocents too? Can't think of any right-wing organisations that have massacred millions?

If that's the case then there is no point debating further with you I'm afraid.

A clue would be that 'normal' people accept that the extremes of both side harbour appalling individuals, parties, history, etc rather than pinning it all on 'lunatic lefties' or 'right wing nazis'.

He's said no such thing. He said that it was 'generally' those on the left that committed these types of atrocities.

I'm not claiming this is true either, but at least address the point he has made, not an entirely different one!
