Game theory: Some hardened remainers will vote LibDem thus depriving Labour of some votes. UKIP are weak, thus strengthening Tory vote. Labour will lose even more seats. She will have a huge majority and the opposition in chaos..
Yes there are far too many fractures in the Labour Party and UKIP not really getting their act together. Just needs Donald to come and campaign for her This will also strengthen her hand with the Scotland Indie ref talk. Let's see how SNP do ... hope they fking crash & burn.
I know the polls are hugely in her favour but there is certainly a whiff of arrogance and presumption about this statement... The Lib Dem & SNP position is a perfectly valid one and to try and portray them as some kind of traitors is a bit over the top. The whole point of opposition is to challenge and oppose... May sounds like she wants to finalise a 1 party state with this election.

Surely if it is an GE announcement then that will then become a proxy EU referendum won't it?
LibDems coming out straight away with a "vote for us and vote for the EU".... with the "leave" vote split between the rest of the parties.... in which it may see a LibDem win ?
As the UK is very much split down the middle on the EU issue, I think a GE would be reckless.
you really believe the lib dems are going to win a general election in the near future ? really ?LibDems coming out straight away with a "vote for us and vote for the EU".... with the "leave" vote split between the rest of the parties.... in which it may see a LibDem win ?

Rubbish about a 1 party state. The will of the people prevails, we all get to vote.VolvoT5 said:

SNP have been sniping about an unelected PM, so here's the solution. Reap what you sow.VolvoT5 said:

I think its more an indication that she will need a large majority in the house to get all the EU related legislation through without the need to water it down. It also points towards a longer transitional relationship with the EU than would be politically acceptable for a lot of people.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
