Part of me almost wonders if some parts of the party realise how much in-party backstabbing will go on if they get a huge majority, and they're leaving the goal open a bit as a result to try and avoid that.

Traditionally the Tories are much better at fighting elections than this.
My theory is that with all the earlier talk of a landslide, they're worried that their voters either won't bother turning out ("the Tories are going to win anyway, so I needn't bother") or will consider voting Labour ("the Tories are going to win anyway, so we need a strong opposition").

So they're deliberately letting it slide a bit in order to mobilise people.

Either that or their campaign team is st.

Applying Occam's Razor to the problem would lead us towards the second explanation...in fact, who is the "Tory campaign team" these days? Anyone know who's in charge?

in terms of Brexit, it cannot be the Tories. Guaranteed fail.
In terms of Brexit it's the best option. Clearly.
only if you, for tribal reasons, would rather vote for a guaranteed epic fail over a possible/likely fail. The Tories have shown their negotiating abilities with the EU. They were handed their arses. They are weak.

That's a nonsense comparison and you know it.

There's a massive difference between Cameron going to the EU with nothing to trade and May going to the EU with the backing of the result of an EU referendum and having triggered Article 50. I'm amazed you don't understand that.

Not disagreeing at all, but it's fairly likely anyone is going to get their arses handed to them isn't it?

You should disagree, as it's clearly nonsense!

They aren't brilliant, but given the absence of senior negotiating or long term front bench experience from any other party, I'd place my future with the Tories any day, even though I voted to stay...

Currently down in Dorset for the week, the dearth of Vote Tory signs anywhere here or on the way is quite an eye opener.
LOL......sure mate

(I frigging live in the SWest...Labour support is MASSIVE.......... hahahaha)
Liberal Democrats Winning Here posters have been dusted off in the SW but they still reflect single figures % if the polls schmolls are anywhere near accurate and I'd put a shilling on the SW not turning yellow as before.
I am in the Dorset countryside, its one of the Tories safest areas in the country. In practice nobody is really campaigning here because my constituency has been a bolt on Tory certainty since the 50s. With UKIP imploding I reckon Simon Hoare could top 70% here, yes 70 percent of the vote. Its a total waste of time standing here for any other party, literally a job for life once you get nominated here for the Conservative Party.

You think we're going to do alright out of it?! I think we're going to need to lube up.

Actually it's been two months (or about 8.5%) already shouldn't we have seen some initial agreements start to trickle through already?

Labour have a hidden pair of assets
They haven't wheeled them out yet, probably saving them for this week. They will make a difference and the common touch all too lacking by some politicos will do well for them.
That's all I'm saying

I don't think i said that! It clearly remains to be seen. However, I think that May is (by far) the right person to get the best available deal.

I didn't say that either! I said they have been fairly terrible but no one else is going to be able to do any better either hehe

I am concerned we haven't heard anything related to deals after two months though. Surely something is in the process of being a fair distance along?

Left jab, right hook and a head butt. Not sure his brand of persuasion works on anyone other than the party apparatchiks.
