Have we reached "peak guardian"?

How about this gem??? I'm guessing that the snowflake that wrote this drivel enjoys a nice Indian curry every now and again.
The Grauniad snowflake would probably now say it's the best sauce in the EU.

It can't get lower than that, surely! And the author.. have you ever seen someone who looks so void of talent, and needing to jump on the bandwagon to get anywhere, as he does!
With a name like Luke Buckmaster, he thinks he's been put on earth to change the world, the galaxy and beyond.
I bet his favourite film is 'Guardian(s) of the Galaxy'.
He's so offended by Crocodile Dundee. Poor sad wet-behind-the-ears fool. 'Call that a knife. THIS is a knife!'
Another drip (literally) added to end the languishing days of the Grauniad.
Does it sell any papers ...at all?
Please donate a pound to save its future.
Nah.

The Guardian is an excellent newspaper, quality journalism ... until you get to the Opinion pieces. What a load of nonsense most of them are. This is from someone who regularly reads The Guardian.
Their investigative journalism is very good, probably the best amongst peers (Washington Post in US as a comparison). I steer clear of the opinion pieces.

I used to quite enjoy the Grauniad but I think what ruined it was when they started conflating bloggers with journalists and increasing the number of 'opinion pieces' vs actual intellectual commentary. It used to be a fairly highbrow paper but in recent years has become incredibly dumbed down. .
I agree. I often like their journalistic content but they (after spending years bemoaning the Mail doing the same) are evidently following the money and adding to the intellectual autoimmune disease the world seems to be living with.I miss the days of paper news and a more serious BBC.

My personal favourite from a quick scroll through is:
"Science classes won't future-proof our children. But dance might"
Bang on. "Science classes won't future-proof our children. But dance might"
An interpretative dance workshop is the only way to adequately explain why paying for tomato ketchup is racist.

There must be LOADS more legitimate targets than the Crocodile Dundee movies.

Their football coverage is the best in the business too.
Was, not is. Its a pile of utter ste these days IMO, a slow steady decline over the last five years or so, their quality journalism and investigations have given way to an ever increasing amount of low quality click bait garbageTheir football coverage is the best in the business too.

Clearly the SJWs at the Grauniad should know this is transphobia and not homophobia! Or is it just misogyny?
Depends, I guess, whether he thought they were gay, trans, or just a woman.

the problem with most news media today is they're trying to compete with the perceived threat of social media by being more emotionally led, rather than factually led. Excitement and instant gratification rather than boring and staid.fblm said:

These days I think I despise the Guardian even more than the DM.
Likewise. The Guardian has some decent intelligent journo's all but totally drowned out by the hang wringing, wailing and weeping of the guilt ridden, permanently offended, 'everything is unfair' bunch of Islington fvcksticks they give so much space to. They should know better. The DM on the other hand is the DM; a slightly racist version of Heat magazine. You almost have to admire how they manage to be so obsequious and condescending at the same time..:ian:. said:

Hold on, hold on... From what I can remember of the movies, Mick Dundee was a good friend to the Aborigines he knew, and treated his girlfriend with respect. Can't remember him doing much gay bashing, either.

Transphobic though from what I remember. Burn him at the stake There must be LOADS more legitimate targets than the Crocodile Dundee movies.

Post Panama papers I'd have agreed, surprisingly they also did some of the best researched pieces on the financial crisis (back in the day!), but recently their hysteria over the Paradise (Appleby) papers was absolutely terrible celeb bilge with almost every article begrudgingly admitting at the bottom that there wasn't actually anything wrong with much of their big exposé. I'm afraid the journalists have been reading the opinion pieces and they have all disappeared up their own backside.BlackLabel said:
Thankfully, Luke, no one gives a shyte about your pedantic and pathetic views. With pricks like this employed a writing their drivel, I fear for the future of TV, movies and even radio. As we were all laughing and giggling to the absurdity, racism and elitism displayed in the comedic gem that is "Trading Places", over Xmas, it was sad to think that there is no way on earth anyone would be allowed to make such a movie now or in the future. For fear of upsetting the professionally offended.
It's also odd to think that in decades past, we were far more prudish over such things as sex and pornography, (the hardcore versions of which are a ubiquity nowadays and hence for which there appears to be little shame in viewing nowadays) and yet, as a society, we seem to be so precious and fragile that a joke hinting at national, cultural or racial "stereotypes", is met with such universal outrage and discussions in Paliament.......then everyone goes over the Pornhub and watches guys and girls with champagne bottles shuvved up their aholes with little such outcry. Odd when you think of it.
I'm not saying you have to be a wker to write for the guardian, but in this case......
