All circs are dipping, The Guardian is dipping faster than most. Down to 150k (the DM is 1.4 million) The last editor presided over £300 million of losses and still got a £175,000 bonus one year. Life's great when you don't have to make a profit.

The Guardian could save money and become a lot more readable if they ditched the ‘opinion pieces’.

Just don't click on them?

People presumably manage to read the Mail without having to see all the st.

My community is vehemently against Travellers settling on a local common. How can I challenge this?

Came here to post the same. Saw it this morning ( Guardian readerboxedin ) and immediately thought that PH would have a field day with it, ripping it to shreds critiquing it with quietly reserved relish. Quite rightly, too - ghastly windbag (have you, dear columnist, considered for just one moment that it might be you who is the one at odds with society?)

Given the state that many 'travellers' leave their sites in, once vacated, how do enviro-friendly, bien-pensants square their logical conflict?

Perhaps Ms Noor should pop over to the traveller site and ask them nicely not to leave rubbish behind, then report back with her experience? After all, if they are so misunderstood and law abiding they will have absolutely no problem with it.

Thats all I ever hear, yet it has the most readership.
Daily Mail is the news equivalent of McDonald's. Everyone publicly hates them, but privately enjoys them. People sneer at McDo, but every time you drive past, folk are queueing round the block.
Seems about right. Not alt-right though.

The DM's knee-jerk critics resemble a loud but small subset of the ever-decreasing and very small Guardian readership in thrall to the G's band of other-worldly floppy haired leftyloons mentioned earlier in the thread. .

I simply can't fathom how a paper that produces quality, relevant articles like this could be on its arse through lack of readers...
It's of infinitely higher quality than the alt-right made up 'news' you have been linking to recently.

My sister had squatters move in to the abandoned nursery next door to her London flat. Day 1 she was defending them, rents are so high, they have no choice, etc... by day 3 of late night parties, rubbish thrown on the roof and dodgy characters hanging around her tune had changed completely.

I felt sad because my sister had become more realistic, but also more cynical.

Sometimes I think the Guardian writers have just been lucky enough to have been brought up by brilliant parents who shielded them from the sometimes depressing realities of life.

By which you mean, they've been brought up in ivory towers in middle class Liberal urban bubbles, untroubled by the realities faced by people living elsewhere.

Anyway, this isn't the Guardian but the sentiment definitely belongs in one of its columns: Sexuality expert says parents must ask consent before changing babies nappies...

I'm surprised they haven't called the current squad sexist - as it only contains men.

The only thing missing from that article is one of their adverts in which they are begging for alms. "Just a fiver a month to support quality journalism"......

It's selfless of The Guardian to support quality journalism given they need some.
