I am marvelling at how a cretinous blob can appear somehow sanctimonious and stupid simultaneously.

Because she does not realise that she is a cretinous blob.

My god...she’s a vacuous, clueless cretin.
(That’s not an insult....it seems to be fact).

How the heck can anyone justify voting for a party with that as home secretary?
I can only presume half the electorate are at her level or lower.

There really needs to be a minimal level of education or ability to enter politics.
Whist I won't disagree with your assessment of her as a "vacuous, clueless cretin", I would point out that she is a graduate of Cambridge University with a degree in history - and so is likely to tick lots of diversity boxes with some ease.
HTH.
Yes...i looked up her ecucation after posting.
Quite surprising.
We obviously need something more specific.
A degree in history doesn’t qualify you to be a doctor.
Why should it be ok to run tne country?

Problem is most of the Labour voters don't either as they don't actually 'follow politics'.

When I asked my friends who are teachers if they were happy have Diane Abbott as Home Secretary if Labour were to get in? Pointing out her ineptitude to them they all said "I don't follow Politics enough to care about that sort of thing.".

That, is what we are up against.

Nick Ferrari on LBC this morning was saying that he has been trying to get her on, but she won't, I'd love to hear him interview her.
I don't think that will be happening any time soon!

The way she speaks in interviews is like someone unused to having an ear microphone, with someone else speaking to her via it, always stalling for time to understand whats being said ' welllll.......I think...... that ....... maybe ....' .
Wouldn't it be great if she had a Ron Burgundy moment.

fk You Hackney North and Stoke Newington!

I think it is more than that.

How many youngsters genuinely follow politics? And more importantly scrutinise the economic side of politics?

Then when we get to the age where it starts to really concern us we why do so many Labour voters swing to Conservative?

She seems like she has had a few strokes and a touch of dementia since then.
Don't forget the 'funny turn' she had due to her diabetes during the radio interview.

We are far more rigorous in the process of determining who can sit on top of a giant firework and get flung into space than we ever are with selecting who determines the fate of the nation. 'Democracies have leaders without proper skills or morals and that it is quite unlikely that the best equipped to rule will come to power' to paraphrase Plato.

Well, you could almost argue positive discrimination...but that's really clutching at straws when you have Angela Rayner as shadow Education sec and Emily Thornberry as shadow Sec of State. It would be funny if it weren't for the fact they're the second biggest political party in the UK.

Dunno, but the fact she did her final dissertation on Henry the 10th and his 19 wives probably should have signalled things to come.

I wish that were not true, just something you made up. But I know it to be true and I read it with a sense of total despair.

Translation: Tories freeze our wages, Labour are promising us more money.

Besides, the cream of graduate talent tends not to go into teaching as not lucrative/respected enough.

That's possible, having watched multiple interviews. She's barely sentient. If that's the case, she's unfit to serve.

A bit like Vaz, who looks a bit like her without the wig.

Wait: have they been seen together in the same room?

Genuine question - is her final year dissertation available to be downloaded?

I know some universities have created digital copies of batchelors and masters projects etc. I would quite like to read her work just to see if she is any good at her chosen subject.
