Anybody know how she got to Cambridge in the 70's, back when it meant something, but has somehow become a person who one struggles to reconcile with that 'bright future'?
Frustrated with unchallenging English classes, Abbott informed the teacher that she would study the assigned books on her own instead. The fact that Abbott eventually earned an “A” did little to endear her to the teacher. Her parents, however, were always supportive; as she recalled in the Times, her father told her, “in order to get on, you have to be not just as good as white people, but better.”Burwood said:

Because as a white male in the UK I always think I have to be better than black people..... Or am I missing something?

Got lost on the way to duxford airshow. Fundoreen said:
I saw a bit of it last week and they seemed to go after DA. I think she is a bit clever in that rather than battle it out at the time she goes for the sympathy angle next day.
I think she fills the opposition role of being awkward well but if labour were elected I doubt she would be
in a serious cabinet post.
Not such a clever strategy when inevitably the only shows that will still take her are Would I Lie To You and Michael McIntyre's Big Show.I think she fills the opposition role of being awkward well but if labour were elected I doubt she would be
in a serious cabinet post.

In the pub last night with some old mates I'd not seen for years. We were talking about the world and how much it's changed, not always for the better too. Gillette came up and I made mention that I found it odd nobody seems to have pulled out the couple of feminists out, Kim Gehrig (an Aussie) and Sally Campbell, who made the ad, who I think both live in London. Well, I hadn't seen any pics of them.
I was told I wasn't up to speed and that one, Campbell, was a known huge Lefty Dianne Abbott fan.
I said, what behind the Gillette ad? Yeah, don't you read the news Dan?
He was right!
Look at the foot!!
