Interesting that you associate penis size with manliness.
Interesting that you focused on the penis and not the beard, height, build or clothing.

How about a man that is 6ft 5, thick beard, built like a brick st house, dressed like a man with a cock that would make a horse blush but identifies as a woman and wants to use the female toilets where your 5yr old daughter has just entered on her own to take a piss?

I'm not saying the fella is going to attempt anything other than take a piss but how many parents out there would be happy and comfortable with that situation?
Well, what happens when someone does that right now? And how will that change in the future?

And how does someone going to a public loo, to use an individual cubicle, impact the aforementioned "think of the children" daughter? And what parent sends a 5 year-old child into the loo on their own anyway??

Why are people so totally obsessed with toilets????????????
Who is obsessed with toilets ?

It's a fair question.

Physically still a man but identifying with a woman ...

What's your answer ?
Which toilet people use has never been an issue, it's down to the individual circumstances. If you look like a women, use the womens WC, genuinely nobody would be remotely bothered except the professionally offended.

I don't let my 5 year old child go to the toilet on their own.

Even if I did, in a women's toilet, a man is going to go into a cubicle same as anyone else. There isn't going to be a giant cock waving around.. What do you honestly think happens in a women's toilet?!?

In any case, you can invent any scenario you want, I asked about something very very different.

The question came about because of this comment:

There's a pair of toilets- non-disabled choice of which bog to use is governed AISI by the presence or absence of a little willy, anything else is someone being a nuisance.
It was asked because in this "willy=man" view of the world, a trans woman, dressed as a woman, would have to use the men's toilet.

But I refuse to stay silent on a matter that is so important to me. By being silent I would be complicit in allowing prejudice to continue unopposed.
Which is fair enough.

I think the issue some people have is when someone's (or a groups) sexuality is rammed down your throat, so to speak.

I have friends who are gay, but, frankly, some of the things they say and get up to I would rather not know.

They can be a bit "look at me" and tend to put on a bit of a show at times.

I'm straight. I find it embarrassing.

As a result of that I tend to distance myself from them (although they are still mates).

I'm not saying everyone who is gay/ bi/ trans/ whatever is like this - in fact, I know some gay people who are very straightlaced - but there does seem to be a bit of a trend from what I have seen.

Do whatever you like. I just don't want to hear about it.

Part of the problem with gender is not everyone thinks in terms of gender. Some people identify people by their sex. If you ask someone who thinks in terms of sex to go against what they believe you'll get an argument.

My reason for asking was the case a while back when a shop assistant was asked which he/she should use. Not having a clue how to answer she suggested the disabled- cue uproar for the LBGTABCD community and a court case rather than accepting the suggestion as a reasonable alternative.

They can do what they want but they shouldn't cause problems for others. This can be extrapolated to the rest of the population.

And as always in these debates about forcing trans people to use the toilets of their assigned birth sex, the issue of trans men is ignored. Force trans people to do that, and you have burley testosterone-filled people built like the aforementioned brick sthouses, with beards, and with a cock (and the sexuality to want to use it, very often) into the ladies toilets. Oh noes! Unintended consequences!

Sometimes I think this is all about alpha males with fragile masculinity feeling threatened by trans women. It's always about trans women, and always about ladies toilets. I don't really understand it.

This and the rest of the post is a rare case where we're in complete agreement.

I suppose the toilet question has been done to death so many times, I just thought the additional mention of penis size was a curious one.

FWIW this is part of my concern with legal self identification, I think identifying as a gender is significantly more to do with how you present than what your documentation says. So in the example above I think it would naturally make people uncomfortable.

Although I don't think it has anything to do with the height, build, or clothing as many women who are recognizable as women dress in mens clothing - one of my friends is 6'4" and buys mens clothes because they fit her better.

ALSO - the whole scenario presupposes the sociological element of gender - and that people 'fit' these stereotypes, some of them more explicitly than others. By coming up with a scenario of a 'manly man going into womens toilet' there is a tacit acceptance that if that person presented differently the problem wouldn't exist.

But what ever, it's still kind of funny that penis size came into it.

It seems rather odd to come into a thread about something you don't want to hear about and say you don't want to hear about it.

I don't want to hear about football so I actively avoid places where it is talked about. Sometimes it's unavoidable, such as in the workplace, but then I just put my noise-cancelling headphones on and get on with my work.

Your comment is similar to feminists who say men feel threatened by a strong woman when they in fact don't want to deal with a stroppy madam.

The corollary being that they think that said woman should be silent and subservient, rather than being so presumptuous as to be "stroppy".

I don't want to hear about some of the shenanigans.

I've posted on this thread to provide my point of view/ experience.

There is quite an obvious difference.
