How do you know you have a 100% success rate? Have you verified the birth gender of every person you have ever met? Of course you haven't.

If you were to go to Bangkok for example you would often struggle to tell the difference. Many western guys seem to hook up with a nice looking 'she' only to find later in the evening he wangs out his dong ! (AND NO, THIS IS NOT FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE hahaha)

I'm told (by 3rd parties of course!) that in Asia the cost of surgery and other medical practices to make them look like the opposite sex is much cheaper than here in the west and as such there are more common cases whereby they've gone as far as medically possible to present themselves as the opposite gender.

But I do think its easier for people of like races to notice a transvestite, like you say there are many obvious differences and some minor ones that of like race we are more tuned in to, but also having said that there will be cases where its quite difficult to tell unless they do certain things.

Voice is often a giveaway, whereby men pretending to be women will speak in a higher pitched voice that often sounds like they are mimicking a 5 year old child. But it is likely the case that a person would not 'detect' a transvestite unless they do some actions that give them away so to speak.

YOu're only thinking of men who are traditionally 'masculine.' There are men (not trans) who are quite 'feminine' and have sometimes beautiful faces like a woman. HUmanity is broad and more diverse than the strict (and fairly recent) definitions used by modern UK culture.

True. My 8 year old son has the face of an angel and is often mistook for a girl. He is also very feminine in his ways. But hey, as long as I can help him be happy he will be who he is.

Go to bed if you're Tired. This is a great thread. Read and learn is all I would say. It has made a better person of me since I have been following it.

'California Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, with committee approval, instituted new rules in the Senate Judiciary Committee she chairs that eliminated the use of gendered pronouns, like "he/him," or "she, her." Instead members are supposed to use "them/they."

Despite the change, the pronoun rules proved easier for Jackson to talk about in theory, than to actually put into practice. Immediately after announcing the rules, Jackson started violating them; at least 14 times within 30 minutes.'

Absolutely, I'm all for the positive message some people are trying to spread. But posting pics of your effeminate 8 year old boy's eyelashes for our resident transsexual (sincere apologies if that's not the appropriate term CC) just struck me as being a bit odd, that's all.

My comment was deleted, are we not allowed to say if we feel uncomfortable about something we see posted online now?

Well I didn't report it.

I thought your comment was rather odd and I question your reasons for being uncomfortable, but I didn't have a problem with you posting nor think the post should be removed

I'm making a guess at the reason your post was removed, if you think back to what you wrote in the context of who you were writing it about, you might come to the same conclusion.

Understood and accepted and I did have a second thought. In that moment, after I had described my boy as an angel often mistaken for a girl, I had an upswelling of pride and wanted to share, perhaps because of CC's approval of my attitude to his growth as a person? I trust you noted that the image was subtle? I'm happy to remove it if it remains inappropriate in your opinion. Please don't forget that we should preserve innocence not just in children but in adults too. We live in a mean world and this thread has, to some degree, enabled me to be less mean and cruel in both thought and deed because it speaks on so many levels about life. If you like, it has sharpened the focus of my personal lens and widened my understanding of more things than just the debate at hand. Hoorah to that!

That's absolutely awesome, and such a heart-warming and positive thing to hear. Hoorah indeed. thumbup

Edit: And I wholeheartedly agree. I saw it the way it was intended and responded likewise. I find it rather depressing that it was seen as anything other than innocent by others. But such is the world we live in, I guess. frown

Yet some guys fit neither box and may just choose to wear what feels more comfortable to them...

Guys' clothes is pretty limited to jeans, trousers, shorts and perhaps a kilt if at a function or wedding...
the 'executive' above may raise eyebrows and be considered 'trans' by most, where he could just be a straight (hetero) guy who prefers a more daring look eek each to their own.

For me, I prefer a kilt like this chap below as a smart alternative to a suit on a summer's day

but fashion is changing - see how mens' jeans are now, and try and find a regular fit that doesn't cling to you like leggings rolleyes
