RIP Roger.
He's been quite outspoken about big game hunting recently and gained a bit more respect from me. I already thought he was a decent sort, certainly not the sort of celebrity to take themselves too seriously.

He did a tonne of work for UNICEF for decades

RIP Sir Roger
Loved all his Bond movies, even Moonraker! Great Sunday afternoon films that the whole family could enjoy. Whoever he was starring with, he had amazing chemistry that really made the films watchable. In particular, his interactions with Richard Kiel always bring a smile to face.

He was the Saint for me first then my favourite James Bond. Such a classy man in everything he did I think he lived his life with his tongue planted firmly in his cheek. RIP and condolences to his family and thanks so very much for all the memories he certainly did keep

RIP. Always came across as a thoroughly good guy who didn't take himself too seriously.
I'll always remember as a little boy growing up in the north of England in the mid 70s, a grey miserable country beset by strikes, watching what must have been repeats of The Persuaders and getting a glimpse of this world that was everything Manchester in 1975 wasn't. The theme tune, the cars, Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. Pure escapism. I'm sure it was crap but it just reminds me of those days in a way virtually no other programme does.

I reckon RM would raise an eyebrow to that
Particularly for those of is who watched the originals, The Saint and The Persuaders are still great entertainment. Moore's infamous tongue in cheek approach was perfect for those series, there was no pretentiousness at all - compare and contrast with the Horatio Caine and Leroy Jethro Gibbs characters in those godawful American cop type shows you can catch on cable if you're unlucky.
He was also one of the best two Bonds (with Sean Connery) and by a mile, both suave but Moore silky smooth as well, far better than the battering ram approach in the modern takes on Bond with that Daniel Craig chap.
He had a good innings. RIP Sir Roger Moore.

Terrible shame, he was my bond.
His diary from the making of live and let die is a damn good read unfortunately an ex gave my copy to a charity shop but if you can find a copy it's brilliant.
