DB9 Cruise Control not Working
Discussion
Hi all,
I've got a 2011 DB9 I purchased (with extended warranty) last month, and I recently took a drive down a freeway. I tried to engage the Cruise Control to no avail.
The dealership I bought the car from is in another state (1000km away) so dont want to take it there if its an easy fix.
I dont know which end a screwdriver works so I'll be taking the car to a mechanic. My question is, can any mechanic fix this or is there a more sinister underlying problem than buttons on a steering wheel not working?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt.

If it's not the on/off switch at the rear.... I had a similar issue with a 2011 V8V, cruise control at first intermittent and then would not engage at all on the buttons - diagnosed by the dealer as the 'cruise control module' and replaced under warranty - all ok since. Regards, Dave W.

Best I have a look on the display! Does it say cruise when its on and ready or when its cruising? Which I'm usually aware of as my foot I'd off the loud pedal.
Edit 2007 V8V
David W - it says cruise when activated i.e. as soon as the switch at the rear of the pod is turned on even if a cruise speed is not set. - regards, Dave W.Edit 2007 V8V

Thanks Dave W. I'll have to RTFM!
Was trying to work out how mine worked on the fly the other day with initial limited success but got there in the end.
Have given up with the sat-nav but now proficient with radio, trips etc. Getting plenty of practice at opening the petrol flap!

Really dumb question, but did you flick the rocker switch on the side of the switch pack first?
I only ask because I didn't notice that the first time I drove the car, and assumed that merely pressing 'Set' would turn it on.
OMG!!! You are correct! Why on earth you need another button to allow you to use a button is beyond me! Teaches me to actually pull out the manual...Didnt think I'd ned to given how simple it is to press "Set"...and forget.I only ask because I didn't notice that the first time I drove the car, and assumed that merely pressing 'Set' would turn it on.
thanks,
Matt.
This got me as well when I first bought the car. I was also having trouble with the steering wheel volume controls working. I also got an error stating that the paddles were inoperable. I thought it was a clock spring issue but it only showed up after the car sat for more than a week without running it. low battery was doing it for me. I keep a trickle charger on it now. I plan to fit a new battery soon.
