Looks like May just found the Remoaners 350m a week from the big red bus.
But by raising tax, not from the "brexit dividend".

Does that mean the UK gets far worse value for money, or we undertake more care outside of hospital beds?

How much do the Germans spunk away on A&E with their populous going out every weekend with the sole purpose of getting totally guttered, into fights etc?

I’m not bothered either way. It’s a great move.

Handy that they dropped the 2015 pledge to not increase income tax or NI for the 2017 election then.

Such a massive misconception. That is a tiny proportion of admissions to A&E in the UK and even then the vast majority are walk in and walk out, they don’t require a bed.

Do we know how the figures have changed over the last 8 years.

Marr: How will you pay for the £20bn NHS cash boost?
May: "We will be contributing more as a country."

Tax rises on the way then.

That's code for sum unlucky buggers will pay more, and others will get it free.

Saw this and was just gobsmacked. No suggestion of a VFM audit to establish financial waste just the usual tax more waste more.

Let’s trust they’re levied only on the people who’ve caused the increased demand.

Yes, I know that’s a forlorn hope but I’ll be doing everything possible to avoid any tax increases.

I suspect this will be partly paid for by bringing in NI for pensioners which seems reasonable given the distribution of wealth.

Wish they were just honest about it all.

If they came out and clearly stated that the NHS will get £X extra a year but needs taxes to rise by £Y to pay for it then at least the electorate can decide at the next election whether that’s what they want or not.

I knew the floodgates were opened when taxes were increased for adult social care.
its not £2000 when 40% of the population pay net zero tax though is it. its £2000 plus the short fall all made up by low and middle income paye earners.

It's a big risk to attack pensions in payment, but I agree it's a danger.

With the increase in pension contributions this year and next this is going to be a shock to the system of some.

My daughter - suffers from social anxiety. - 9 months of waiting for an appointment only to be told that we had missed an appointment so would have to go back on the waiting list! We received no correspondence nor can they supply a copy. We get an appointment and it's for group therapy (for someone with social anxiety!!!!). First 3 sessions useless as my daughter won't speak. After 6 sessions the treatment is cut off with no improvement and no way forward.
One of my daughters leads those courses. She thought the idea was bonkers but has been surprised how well it's worked, although it is an issue that socially anxious people find it easy to empathise with each other so within the group they don't appear to be socially anxious at all.

I'll ask her what's supposed to happen if it doesn't work - but I know the main aim of everything the management of her organisation does it to get people off waiting lists, and they don't care how they do it. Some therapists have terrible rates of clients not attending - management thinks that's good as they can scrub those people off the waiting list.

Looks like fuel and alcohol duties will be thawed to pay for this.

Can avoid alcohol if required. Harder to avoid the fuel duty hikes though.

Legalise dope, sit back and collect the revenue. Next problem.
