Does that mean the UK gets far worse value for money, or we undertake more care outside of hospital beds?Troubleatmill said:

Such a massive misconception. That is a tiny proportion of admissions to A&E in the UK and even then the vast majority are walk in and walk out, they don’t require a bed.
My point was not beds - but more this https://www.theguardian.com/society/2010/mar/20/nh...Troubleatmill said:

Marr: How will you pay for the £20bn NHS cash boost?
May: "We will be contributing more as a country."
Tax rises on the way then.
Let’s trust they’re levied only on the people who’ve caused the increased demand. May: "We will be contributing more as a country."
Tax rises on the way then.
Yes, I know that’s a forlorn hope but I’ll be doing everything possible to avoid any tax increases.

Here we go. I knew the floodgates were opened when taxes were increased for adult social care.

My daughter - suffers from social anxiety. - 9 months of waiting for an appointment only to be told that we had missed an appointment so would have to go back on the waiting list! We received no correspondence nor can they supply a copy. We get an appointment and it's for group therapy (for someone with social anxiety!!!!). First 3 sessions useless as my daughter won't speak. After 6 sessions the treatment is cut off with no improvement and no way forward.
One of my daughters leads those courses. She thought the idea was bonkers but has been surprised how well it's worked, although it is an issue that socially anxious people find it easy to empathise with each other so within the group they don't appear to be socially anxious at all.I'll ask her what's supposed to happen if it doesn't work - but I know the main aim of everything the management of her organisation does it to get people off waiting lists, and they don't care how they do it. Some therapists have terrible rates of clients not attending - management thinks that's good as they can scrub those people off the waiting list.
