Could this be the first prosecution for a cutting a child ?

Which would be bizarre as it is not illegal to cut a boy.

According to the mother it is illegal to cut a dogs tail but not a boys penis

IMO, a very bizarre practice. If sky fairies demand it done, people can get it done when they're old enough to decide for themselves.

It's amazing what you can get away with if you just say your God told someone to do it a few thousands years ago. For example......

It's amazing that most of our laws can be traced back to a list your God gave you a few thousand years ago.

Indeed.

Primitive morons allowing their own kids to be cut for no medical reasons whatsoever should be either in prison or secure mental health institution. I have the utmost respect for people who are breaking up with those barbaric traditions.

I'm not totally sure you can say its Blacklabel's God or even most laws.

CoE is our national religion.

The Commandments are the backbone of most of our laws.

No it's not and no they aren't.

I must have missed where "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image" made it onto the statute books

Not murdering people, committing adultery, stealing etc are pretty common sense.. don't think we needed Moses coming down the mountain to tell us that.

Before I click the link - can I take a guess at which religion it is?

I'll bet I'm not wrong.

Just so we're clear you are saying we don't have a national religion?

Laws we can debate but state religion is a simple yes/no.

What do you mean by a state religion or national religion?

Disgusting. Didnt know that circumcision "cleansing" practice existed. What is it with religions and their generally dubious approach to children.

Edit to add I thought this is a very odd statement too "male circumcision in the UK is generally assumed to be lawful provided there is valid consent". Assumed? Can a child give consent? Presumably they can't go out and get a tattoo for instance.

A simple no. The UK does not have a "state religion".

Rightly, FGM is considered barbaric,
MGM should be considered barbaric.
I have good reason to be opposed to such invasion.

Why does everybody think this is only a religious thing?

It was thought thst male circumcision reduced the risk of cancer in female partners' naughty bits.

It should be treated for what it is - rape and physical abuse.
