If Wiccan of Darkness is about - thank you for explaining so cogently back at the start of this thread the precise nature of Charlie's illness. I joined Pistonheads purely to thank you but have been banned from posting on this thread for a fortnight (I suspect because the Charlie's Army nutters were piling in). Bit late but no other option!
You weren't banned, it's standard practice to not let new members post in the P&P for 2 weeks after joining I think. Probably to discourage those with political axes to grind joining up especially to do so.

While this thread has been bumped,

Charlie's parents have used the £1.3m to set up a foundation for the families of other children with rare illnesses. It will provide support and be "hub of information" to those who require it.

Let's hope it's not going to be a hub of deluded mis-information. nono

The Gruniad has some detail on what they're planning on doing. The article makes no mention about whether or not it's being based on Facebook...

Well tell me where over a million pounds has gone exactly, please?

You can't, can you.
I'm struggling here: you quote figures for the fund's first 10 months, and the accounts filed at Companies House for the period to 31 March 2008 roughly match those figures.

You then question where a million pounds has gone - it hadn't gone anywhere, it's sat on the balance sheet of those accounts.
Judging by his posts, I tend to doubt that twoblacklines is familiar with the reading and understanding of balance sheets, but I may be wrong about this.

PS: He may also have read some tabloid headlines and/or some internet ranty sites and of course EVERYTHING written on the net and in tabloids is true.

I was happily reading that until the article, something I was deeply engrossed in, happened to then mention that a quarter of Americans believe in witches. As though that was proof of irrational thinking?

Ummm witches are real.....
Witches are real enough. My wife is friends with one. Whether their magic/spells and other woo works is less clear.

I was on the second date with an apparently clever, interesting and also hot divorced forty-something and all seemed to be going well as we finished our Martinis and waited for the starters. Then she told me that she had fixed the gearbox on her Mercedes using her magical powers. She was not kidding. Alas, the third date never happened.

I'm sufficiently desperate- could you give her my contact details & ask whether she's any good with Saabs?

That reminds me of the one about the American tourist in the broken down Ford in the remote west of Ireland who is given good advice on how to fix it by an old black horse in a nearby field. The barman in the pub later tells the guy: "Wow, you were lucky. It's usually the white horse in that field, and he knows fk all about Fords."

Too bad, you could have saved yourself a fortune on all your old motors biggrin
Never mind an oil change, just get some herbs in for her to use.

I dated a witch once. Driving her home, she put a hand on my thigh & I turned into a layby.

That brings up the old one about the flamboyantly gay guy who gets out of a New York City cab and forgets his umbrella. "Hey, Fairy!", says the cab driver, "You forgot your magic wand". The gay dude grabs the umbrella, points it at the driver, and say "Turn to st".
