He's on my small list of politicians who did something good or made a great speech once but I can't remember it at the moment.

I quite like him.
At least people will know who the libdem leader will be if he gets the job.

Can't say I'm a fan but I do know what he looks like so can avoid him if I see him in the street unlike just about every other LD MP. I've even forgotten the name of the last bloke who was in charge or what he looked like. I think it was Tim something or other. At least people will know who the libdem leader will be if he gets the job.

He's a vain and silly man. I recall he had his media responsibilities removed by Cameron in the coalition government for boasting to an attractive female reporter that he had declared war on Murdoch whilst he was in the middle of deciding - as a minister - about the Murdoch take-over of all of BSkyB.
I think he truly believes his own hype. More so than any other politician perhaps.
He truly does like to predict doom and gloom and then stand back with a smug 'I told you so' expression. He doesn't seem to actually peddle any policies, just ridicules both Labour and Tories equally.
He's one sound bite away from oblivion in my opinion. One comment out of place and he'll be finished.

There seemed to be a few occasions when he had a sudden rush of blood to the head (or somewhere else) and came out with something inappropriate and macho.TwigtheWonderkid said:

and May who is, what? Late 50s?
She turned 60 last October. I'd be interested to know when the last time the average age of the three main parties' leaders was as high as it will be if Cable gets the job.
But I'm not going to try and work it out on my lunch break.

Given all the Remainers didn't bother to turn out and vote for the LibDems when they placed everything on Brexit, they'll be lucky keep the few MP's they have.
Where did all the Remainer vote go btw ?
What share of the vote did the LD's get compared to when Clegg got clobbered for jumping into bed with the Tories?Where did all the Remainer vote go btw ?
Fptp is a crushingly unfair system in some ways. If you came second in every seat in the entire country you'd still not have an MP! I like what the French do with their president- you vote, they get the two winners and you pick the one you hate the least.
Sir Vince isn't happy.

Writing in the Mail on Sunday, Sir Vince said referring to Brexiteers as “martyrs” is “dangerous” as he claimed those who adopt such a title are “predominantly elderly”.
He said: “To describe such masochism as ‘martyrdom’ is dangerous. We haven’t yet heard about ‘Brexit jihadis’ but there is an undercurrent of violence in the language which is troubling.
