Have you ever spent any significant time in the USA and got to know people out there?

I ask this because your view of how the American people I know well think is so far off the scale of that I have experienced.

I know a wide range of people out there from a diverse level of income and cultural background and you are completely overstating the position on this one, They don't care about people expressing themselves. During the Bush freedom fries nonsense some of the less thinking got wound up a bit but that's ancient history.
What exactly are your 'qualifications' oh great American culture-ologist?

Not that it matters because I'm not claiming to have any great cultural insight other than the superficial "it's a pretty universal westen value (or used to be ) that you'd don't mix politics and work". Which part of my 'view' is at odds with reality?

Anyone who says they think they know how an entire nation thinks because they spent a few weeks in a country taking to 0.00000001% of the population are just idiots.

"I spent a week in america going to places and establishments filled with people that I feel comfortable with, and now I have anecdotal evidence on how an entire nation thinks". yeah OK pal.

NBA preseason and regular season soon also... and NHL.
Before you know it, any black guy who doesn't 'take the knee' is a 'traitor to his race' and shortly after that any white guy who doesn't follow suit is a an 'alt-right racist' ... See if I'm wrong.

BTW which returning banee are you again?
An almost completely pointless and meaningless experience relevent to the discussion. But used to indicate a overall implied opinion held by the American people.

Are you saying first person anecdotal experiences are a reliable and accurate way of gauging the views of millions of people?

No I haven't, jsf post was a "I have the finger on the plus of America because I know a few of them".
What minimoog was trying to do was imply jsf's only meant it in a way it was only jsf's experience and wasn't trying to imply in anyway he had any idea what Americans think just what 10-20 what ever number of Americans think.

That's not what I said.

I've lived in the USA, my cousins are USA citizens, I work with people from the USA regularly and have friends going back decades in the USA. But I must be someone who's only had exposure to the USA for a few weeks because I'm British. Who's the idiot here?

Seems that use of personal devices and email accounts was not just a Hillary thing.

Well Gorka hardly covered himself in glory on GMB, you don't have to scratch far below the surface to reach the ahole inside.

Their attendance figures have already been dropping and after this latest stunt, many more of the public will just vote with their feet & spend their leisure time & money elsewhere. The NFL's loss will be other sports' gain.
Does that mean the waiting list for the Green Bay Packers season tickets may drop to 29 years?

At a rally in Alabama, Trump claimed that the reason the NFL TV ratings were falling was because NFL fans were now watching him instead.

Patriots crowd audibly booed the kneeling players.

Steelers' Alejandro Villanueva, who stood alone for the national anthem, leads the NFL in jersey sales

When 'solidarity' comes from protesting your own anthem, then something has gone wrong.

Even a team owner (who donated over $1 million to the Trump campaign) has criticised Trump for his comments about the NFL - https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/patriots-robert...

And I was laughed at by suggesting the latest turn of Trump wasn't as daft as it first looked yesterday...

This thread needs heaps more objectivity.

Was their kneeling at that stadium before the President mentioned it?

The owner would, the brand of NFL is damaged by this whatever side of the fence you are on. Brand damage will risk losing money.
