World's thinnest book.... "Who Donald Trump is not having an argument with this week"

Page 1

Himself.

This one page book is available in all good bookstores.
Well now thats not accurate Fake News !!!!

He spends all his time arguing with himself note his constant swivelling in the breeze on so many things. That can only mean inner conflict and indecision and as such arguing with oneself.

This story is being made into a much bigger deal than it should be because people as per normal are looking for the smallest reasons to criticise Trump. I say this not as a fanboy but simply someone tired of the non stop whining and hunting for reasons to be upset or offended by Trump.
The whole thread has been that.
They still after all this time dont get it.
My view is I am happy to criticise Trump for things he deserves criticism for so for example his bombing Syria. Totally stupid. Or his actions towards Russia and North Korea etc orhis slow or lack of response to draining the swamp..etc. Pick the big things he does wrong. Stop whining about every tiny thing he does.

It seems these days people will accuse Trump of being offensive or lying simply because he exists. "Trump said Good Day to me.. Can you fking believe it?? the liar.. I am not having a good day so clearly he lied!!!"

And you are in this thread simply to criticise people who criticise Trump. I'm pretty tired of the non stop whining and hunting for reasons to be upset or offended by those opposed to Trump.

Getting interesting with regards the "dossier". Dems and Clinton and an unnamed Reb behind it.

Gorka was on R4 this am spinning a good tale. Really laying into Flake and Corker. I expect that Bannon will be fielding some really right wing candidates in their seats.

Ooh, i know this one - That a lying narcissist who's largely been sheltered from real life by privilege is somehow going to improve the lot of the disadvantaged by mouthing their ill informed prejudices back at them, right?

This op-ed argues that Trump's weakness may be a good thing long term as it restores balance to the system by rendering the legislature more powerful.

I think this well known segment from the Congressional Investigation into Joseph McCarthy is very telling. I am hopeful that some day, someone will address Trump in a similar manner.

The pertinent moment is from 1:10 into the clip.

Who benefits from Trump's tax plan?

Senator Bob casey said:
“Congressional Republicans are not pursuing tax reform, just a massive tax giveaway to the super-rich at the expense of the middle class,” Casey said in a statement issued almost as soon as Trump stopped speaking. “Eighty percent of the Republican tax plan goes to the top 1 percent by 2027 -- that’s a bad deal for middle class families and workers.”
In other news a bear was seen going to the woods. He may possibly have been going to take a dump.

I thought the dossier commissioning and funding was well known and documented. It was initially commissioned by Republicans who were against Trump, then after Trump won the primaries, Mark Elias took over funding the report for the Clinton Campaign so that Steele could finish the research/report.

There's no cover up on that - it's been hugely reported at the time the dossier came out.
Whats interesting is that every claim on the report, bar the tape, has been proven to be true so far...

So why now try to again devalue the report? Is something about to break on the russian connections again? What's the issue with the Clinton campaign or Republicans against Trump getting intel on their opponent?

I mean it's not like they asked foreign national nationals to hack the opposition, organised meetings to discuss dirt obtained, organised the release of potentially damaging information, took funding for their election campaign from foreign nations/nationals...

This will be the new target for trump I expect though the time difference may be a factor today (the interesting bit in the timing for the assault?)? Gorka was certainly hinting this is where the ire will be at.

"Mr Cohn" is Roy Cohn, Trump's mentor, and the sinister Mr Fix It of 70s New York. Another bag carrier for McCarthy was Richard Nixon.

Yes - and something I just found out earlier this morning reading around the McCarthy hearings. It's all connected - isn't it.

History is always relevant.

First brought to my attention in the R.E.M. track Exhuming McCarthy back in the mid '80s.

It could have been written for this year.

I first came across it in the 1970s TV movie "Tail Gunner Joe" which documented the rise and fall of Joe McCarthy (played brillianty by Peter Boyle).

I think it's also covered in the George Clooney film, "Good Night and Good Luck"

As a history graduate I am biased, but whenever there is discussion about which academic subjects are important (the standard NPE approach sees history as a "soft" subject and not important), I would like to make the case that history is one of the most important subjects there is. I think that the study of history should be compulsory to school leaving age.
