So carry on.

All I was saying is that convincing fellow Brits on how we should be thinking about Trump is a little futile.

And before that may be seen as an open door to then accuse me of being an 'apologist', I'm not. I have no emotion about Trump whatsoever.
I'm sure you don't - but we are engaged in a discussion forum so discussing matters is pertinent to what goes on here.

I like chatting about space matters and spaceflight matters. I'll never be an astronaut and I'll never fly into space - should I just shut up on that topic?

Likewise I am interested in World War 2. I wasn't born at the time and none of my immediate ancestors were involved in that conflict. Is that off limits as a relevant topic for me to discuss too?

Are we only allowed discuss matters we can influence?

To put it bluntly, how dare you tell me what I can or cannot discuss on a discussion forum.

And yet ... here you are repeatedly posting in a thread which is about nothing other than Trump.

Trolling or dissembling?

What do you mean by "conditioning"?

If you understand someone as being "conditioned" because they expect and understand that the best leaders show elements of dignity, respect for office, adherence to the law, lack of pettiness and concern for others above themselves, then by all means label me as "conditioned".

I would prefer to call it "educated, intelligent and considerate" myself.

Yeah. Just stop digging.
Nope. I've seen many relationships where 15-16y old girls would date guys in early 20s, can't remember any of 14 but I don't think that's a massive difference.

Nice that you admit it.

I prefer the word "discussing".

Are you now claiming that ALL discussing is just "trolling"?

Perhaps you haven't quite grasped what a discussion forum is actually for.

If you are just trolling, then skiddaddle off this thread as you are obviously not interested in discussing the topic nor do you have anything to offer to the discussion, except to criticise the participants.

I've got a few friends that have fallen down the rabbit hole; it's sad on the level of seeing a loved one get dementia. frown
Would you say it was cognitive dissonance?

Discussion forum yes.
It just seems to me that its a bunch of people who like to preach to others attempting to bring everyone 'online' with their view.

Its a little different to 'discussions' about science for example whereby interests in science is about furthering knowledge with sound arguments.
And its also a little different to preaching about UK politics, because at least on that subject us Brits have a direct input with our vote.

It just all seems a little pointless with us Brits preaching about Trump.
Note that I'm just saying 'pointless' (or futile previously) rather than "should not be allowed". So don't be getting your panties in a twist wink

Sorry Nanook, as you know by now, I rarely reply to your comments about me. You do seem to have some sort of weird fixation, I have to admit. Are you OK?. I am genuinely concerned.

This is just a reminder of my policy regarding your posts so I will not be replying further to your comment. In other words, you can say what you like about me..

I dunno. We've got old mate who thinks a 25 year old who looks young sleeping with a 14 year old girl is better than an older looking 26 year old sleeping with a 14 year old girl.

And that's something.

It's all pointless to be honest. Discussing life on Mars is pointless - but interesting.

Discussing Trump is indeed pointless - but (to me anyway), interesting.

No difference to my mind at all.

As I said, if you aren't interested in the discussion and you find the posters repetitive and dull, then you are completely free to ignore the thread.

I suppose the massive difference is that by any acceptable standard one is a criminal act and one is not. But you knew that right?

Well, I think he's done a few positive things.

He stopped TTIP
He's working to amend ObamaCare
He's enacting policies to secure the border
He's enacting policies to reverse "free" trade/NAFTA era deals that decimated the American working class
He's (albeit in a crude manner) exposed many of our corporate media organizations

Also, his general inclinations on social issues and America's foreign policy are not particularly negative. He's socially liberal and he's anti- interventionist.

Whether he is broadly successful in the long run remains to be seen. I don't like his personal style, but if you watch old interviews with him, it would seem he's adopted a caculated approach adapted to the American media environment.

You have compiled a list of what he is TRYING to do.

I'd like to see a list based on what legislation he has actually managed to put through Congress and the Senate and enacted into law.

I don't know too much about TTIP, but wasn't it brexit that really screwed over TTIP, leaving it dead in the water?
