It's a virtuous circle. Facebook and twitter act as echo chamber for the things you want to see and like allowing you to mute the things you dont like. The Donald does this so that those users keep seeing his message. He needs to get his followers to distrust all media that doesn't suit his message and agenda apart from the ones that he can control. If you spend all your time on social media you will never see any other side than the one you want to present to yourself.

Fox is owned by that paragon of virtue Mr Murdoch. Interestingly Time is in the middle of a buyout from the Koch. Obviously none of these organisations are in anyway influenced by their owners who in turn have no interest in influencing politics.

And I agree, I think on balance of probabilities the Pee Pee tape is real when you look at how Russia works, Trumps blind hate of Obama and the sources that found the info.

The NYT ran a story over the weekend that Trump has denied (once to a senator and once to an advisor) that the "grab 'em by the pussy" tape is authentic.

That's the tape that has him, moving his lips, saying "I grab 'em by the pussy", and which he apologised for during the campaign.

Is he thinking about laying some groundwork for denying other videotape might not be authentic?

One thing is for sure: if the tape exists, it's under Putin's control, and the timing of its release will be such as to maximise its disruptive effect on the US.

As mentioned above, interesting that Trump is now saying the tape which he apologised for is in fact not him at all. Seems he's rewriting history but then that's not new, after all he's achieved more than any other President before him.
