Do you honestly think the trickle down economics works? It hasn't in the past when Reagan tried it, certainly was a failure in Kansas, running up a huge deficit
I think "trickle down" economics mainly refers to the effect of reducing personal tax rates.

US CT rates are now uncompetitive internationally. They also have lower rates of private investment than they did in the past and many believe the two factors are connected.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/A006RE1Q156NBEA

Because of Trump many commentators are now far more likely to criticize this measure. But I note that the US CT rate is still 2% points higher than our own, after the changes.

Of course the effective tax rate of both regimes will depend on allowances and reliefs.
I think they need to do something to reform the tax code, and also make the US more competitive and I agree the corporation tax had to be reduced. Issue is while this has been touted as being all about middle income families in the US they have made huge changes which only benefit the top 5% and keep adding in new amendments which only benefit the wealthy.

Whats been interesting is not much talk on the huge increase this makes to the national debt, and whenever Trump, Republicans talk about it they never mention those increases.

'Dive boat operators' - a fine example of unbiased POV. hehe
Yeah people who work in that area all the time as opposed to people that are paid to go there and take a snap shot of what's going on.

As I said, Depends on who you wanna believe.
I think perhaps people who wont financially benefit from saying nothing is wrong laugh

But what are they going to do? Withhold Hershey bars from export?

In the good old days, people in the UN probably did this anyway, they probably all had the black book with Pikes name in it, this country has so and so's country's name on the black list cos they vetoed their plan or something.

This makes it sound like Trump just thought it up and thinks he is the first to do it and it is a jolly good idea that will learn them all to dis him.

They can keep the bloody Hershey's,yuck.
However as Jinx says, cutting the funding especially when several countries haven't kept up payment is going to shake things up a bit.

Pam Bondi suggests that Robert Mueller ‘corrupt’ probe ‘worse than Watergate’

http://floridapolitics.com/archives/251755-foxs-ha...

Hang on, wasn't she on the transition team executive committee, along with Mike Pence, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Michael Flynn, Rudy Giuliani, and Jeff Sessions, those that knew all about the sanctions phone call. Hum, no link there then...

Is there anything about what Trump says or does that you DON'T like?

Or is everything he has done so far been hunky dory in your eyes?

Believe it or not,I'm not a massive fan of the bloke personally but I quite like his way of doing things and most of his policies.
I find the hysteria against him embarrassing and ridiculous and hope he lasts longer because of it.

Trump fans seem to have a tick list of pretty much identical beliefs, of which climate change denial is one. I doubt even Trump really believes everything he says, but he knows what pushes the buttons of his base well enough.

I don't think Trump has a single genuine opinion on anything.

As you say, all he wants is to be noticed. He's certainly succeeding on that score, if nothing else.

TBF, before 9/11 the US had been underpaying their pledges to the UN for years. Just like most other countries. They only seem to pay the UN when they want to use them for something.
