His attorney burke was in contact with mcgahn
It's because of fictional executive privilege. Mueller will not fall for that.

Jesus christ. We are in a pantomime.

This is what the US President has been spending his time doing!

Article on the radio the other day saying the people that may be working on this with the president may be in a legal minefield. Something to do with neutrality or not interfering with the press (indirectly the constitution).

But now he has opened himself to get it all back. I would have thought the smart thing from day one was suck up to the press and get them on side.

Mueller subpoenaed bannon last week, so was this Nunes getting bannon in so he could find out what he would tell mueller. His investigation just seems to be running as a blocker for trump.

Donald only seems to suck up to Putin and prefers to bully everyone else as he is bigly powerful and smart.

Is there not a list of his 2000+ proven lies?

That should be pushed heavily by the US media today.

Several, yes. The New York Times kept a continually updated list during 2017 and the Washington Post has been fairly fastidious in tracking his porky pies too

I thought it was funny for a time, but now I find it sickening that this man is being tolerated.

That was my thoughts exactly. I doubt if 90% of people have even heard about those so its not as if they've been crucial in changing the public perception of him.

Actually the real story here is how much people are prepared to lie for him, how he corrupts people around him. This is the real corruption story.

The office of Potus holds sway over people, I guess.

But that is diminishing day by day with the current incumbent. Outside of the Washington bubble at least.

It is astonishing how many of the GOP still support him and are prepared to not hear things or turn a blind eye.

We now know, as mentioned in the Fusion GPS testimony and the Steele Dossier that Trump is open to blackmail, having paid off a porn star to stop their affair becoming known a month before the election. Despite the denials we now know that affair to be true and over a period of time, starting just after his son was born.

We know that Fusion GPS testimony said that "we found widespread evidence that Mr. Trump and his organization had worked with a wide array of dubious Russians in arrangements that often raised questions about money laundering".

We know the US authorities are looking into irregular payments in and out of russian diplomat accounts. We know from the Wall Street Journal that money from a russian oligarch with dual citizenship, Len Blavatnik, made large payments to the RNC, who up until November were paying Trump families legal fees. When that funding was discovered it was quickly shut down.

Who paid for the Stormy Daniels bribe? Trump has a history of not paying, of getting others to pay. It didn't come from his election fund as that was fully documented, did the RNC pay the bribe to keep their candidate in the race just before the election?

Incidently Blavatnik also made large donations to Scott Walker, the Governor of Wisconsin, a state which Trump won in nearly statistically impossible fashion, where votes cast were significantly reduced due to the introduction of the requirement of voter id.

Looking back at history, it's not surprising Trumpettes will excuse anything the president does. Nixon retained the support of most Republicans who believed what Nixon told them, that the scandal was made up, an excuse, that Nixon being unfairly harassed by an unfair press.

John Soper on Radio 4 just did a fascinating piece on how CNN and other US media are playing into Trump's hands by behaving as the enemy rather than carrying out the normal press function of holding power to account. CNN ad revenues are up on the strength of them taking this adversarial position. New York Times digital subs are through the roof too.

That can't be, the New York Times is failing. Trump has said so many times.

Incidently - fox news had the Stormy Daniels story and didn't run it

Corey Lewandowski pulled the same stunt as Bannon, refusing to answer questions before the House Intelligence Committee

Questions refused included "Did you have a conversation with the president of the United States within the last 24 hours where you discussed testimony?’”

There is generally only one reason for not answering a question and that is because the answer won't be comfortable. Refusal is surely perceived by most as a simple admittance of guilt.

As I've said many times before, with Trump it'll be all about the money trail.
Quoted, because I absolutely believe this is where it will end up.

If the continuing investigations keep following the money, I almost guarantee it will be the downfall of Trump. I don't know if it will be money connected to crime, money laundering, Russian money, or something else, but all will no doubt be revealed:

The rest of the circus that surrounds Trump is just the side show. Keep your eyes on the money.
Im about 1/3 of the way through the fire and fury book and this looks to be the case.

I'm hopefully going to start reading it this weekend.
