There was an interesting documentary on More4 over the weekend:"Obama: The Prsident Who Inspired The World".

Now I know there are many who feel that Obama failed to achieve much of what he set out to, and made some key mis-steps, but it did bring into sharp relief the sheer gulf in class between Obama and Trump.

I also happened to hear Rich Hall's US breakdown over te weekend on Radio 4. I didn't realise Trump had acclamied the sale to Norway of a fighter jet that only exists on Call of Duty.

Finally, although I'm no fan of Trump, the BLOTUS stuff risks diluting any of your arguments by paralleling the incisive, statesmanlike "Sloppy Steve" type comments of the man you're decrying.

lol I don't write them, just bring them to your notice, shouldn't we discuss the negatives as well as the positives.

It was trump that proclaimed himself the great deal maker. Seems that was made up as well, Even the image he posted of him sitting at his desk. Working hard... only he hasn't spoken to schumer since early Friday, sat all yesterday watching fox and friends

I am pretty sure that Trump knows f-all about "Tour of Duty". His problem is that he can't actually read. He was reading off a script which said that Norway had bought 52 F-35s. His brain saw F-52. He's dyslexic - I'm sure.

He continually screws up reading from a teleprompter. That's a core Political skill at that level.

One I don't mind him not having because he's not a politician, but the rest of his game is trash too.

Obama achieved heaps given how hemmed in he was by the other 2 branches

He is trolling them and they take the bait, every time!
Trolling requires a certain amount of intelligence and self-awareness. Trump has demonstrated little of the former and none of the latter.
Is it unreasonable to expect more grown-up behaviour than this from a US president?
What would the World's media and pistonheads have to talk about then? It will be boring once he's gone!
Did Obama even have a thread?

Nope don't remember one.

Nor an investigation, no payoffs for porn stars, he did play some golf though.

There were a few about his policies (gun control was one of them) and a "it's out EU referendum, keep your nose out" thread, but not a daily running commentary on his time as President, no

It's impossible to keep up.

Last week we had porn star payoff, government shutdown, the fakies and God knows what else.

Total chaos.

Maybe that's what he wants.

But it makes America look like an utter basket case.

Putin must be laughing 24/7 - and even Fatty in NK is looking to be a saner individual than the clown supposedly in charge of the USA. What makes the USA look even more ridiculous is that such a high proportion of the population *still* support him.

This makes for an interest8ng what if. Would he turn up if he lost the next one? The inauguration that is?
I'm not sure he'd turn up to the inauguration even if he won. The last time was a humiliation for him and he wouldn't be keen to repeat it.

The crowd would definitely be smaller than his first one. How would he counter that?

Oh come on, he claimed a women's march protesting about him. Some aide will tell him it's the biggest crowd and he'll just believe it because it's all about the ratings...

He'd arrange it so that only Fox would cover it and secondly, all the cameras would be positioned/located in such a way so that it would make the crowds huge. And the only photographers allowed to attend would be WH-approved ones, with 'photoshop' skills silly

South and North Korea have today confirmed they will build their first joint Olympics team and march together at the opening ceremony under one flag this year.

A major win for Trump and his two-lane policy of tougher sanctions on North Korea and tougher pressure for China.

Along with a soaring economy, soaring stockmarket and no new wars, his thawing of the Korean conflict will drive the Lefties mad!
His thawing??? HA HA HA. The man who got into a willing waving competition about the size of the button?

We need to be thankful to China and Russia.
Lol.

The South Korean President, no less, said it was / is down to Trump.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/10/south-koreas-moon-...

If trends continue, Trump may be in line for a Nobel Peace Prize by the end of his first term.
The South Korean President is almost duty bound to make such platitudes to the US given their circumstances
TRump asked the South Koreans to give him the credit according to thinkprogress

The same way he's dealt with everything else in his life. He'll lie.

But he'll still be fuming behind closed doors.
