Infrastructure in the budget seems aimed at them.
So long as the US has the anachronistic electoral college, huge spending on small population will reap rewards.
The plan also calls for selling off infrastructure to private companies, airports, bridges, toll roads. Get the users to pay more for them
Ah well, that sounds more like what I would have expected. The USA, as fked as it ever was and going one way. biggrin

For clarity, all I did was innocently mention that ONE post of yours was similar in style to another poster, and you've become weirdly upset by it.

Are you really that easily offended?

There was no underhand attempt to 'link' you to him. We are talking about one post for goodness sake!

Repeatedly saying 'So what?' like a spoilt teenager. Then referring to me as vacuous and ditch dwelling. You've made yourself look extremely odd.

I've not insulted you.

I'm not going to derail one of the more interesting threads on here any longer by submitting to your games. Apologies to the other posters for the brief derailment.

You are are welcome to the last word on the matter Eric. Indeed, you seem just the type of person who craves it.

I will not respond.
Triggered. laugh

The chinese have a huge investment in US companies, apart from the huge trade deficit to them.

The electoral college system is designed that way so that the the east and west coast respectively cant pack together and get to decide who is president/vice president. That is either a good or a bad thing depending on where you live.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(U...

Without the electoral college Bush and Trump would never have been elected. (Gore and H Clinton would be president. How different History might be now.

There was no west coast when it was designed. There were various reasons that aligned back in the day, different purposes being helping an unwieldy continent size country in one of the modern world's first democracies, when voting required several days travel, as well as making sure the common people didn't have direct say, as well as making sure slavery didn't impede things, as well as the small Northern states sticking it to the larger SOuthern ones. Back then the states were more like countries.
Inertia being what it is, I doubt it'll change, the US is stuck with it for the foreseeable.

I think "collage" is a good word to use - a colourful mess that very few can make any sense of.

Trump tweeted today:
According to the @nytimes, a Russian sold phony secrets on “Trump” to the U.S. Asking price was $10 million, brought down to $1 million to be paid over time. I hope people are now seeing & understanding what is going on here. It is all now starting to come out - DRAIN THE SWAMP!

However, CIA Director Pompeo just told the Senate: the NYT story was false. Pompeo’s words: the reporting was “atrocious” and “ridiculous.”
He had already briefed Trump on the false story but Trump ran with it anyway for political purposes.

I've left this thread alone for a little while but thought this worth sharing given the insight it provides into the Clinton legacy and Hilary's vulnerability:

What an odd post. Her issues are the reason why Trump is in office.

They go on about how bad Trump is but that's the person they would have rather had in power.

The "it's so 2016" thing is just the usual "nothing to see here move along" tactic used by people with Trump Delusion syndrome.
