Anti-Semitism and the British Left.
Discussion
Here are a couple of recent studies by Jewish groups:
https://antisemitism.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/08...
http://www.jpr.org.uk/documents/JPR.2017.Antisemit...
From the first one:
Supporters of left-wing political parties and ‘remainers’ are less likely to be antisemitic than those on the right or supporters of the ‘leave’ camp.
Yet the same report also states:
4 in 5 British Jews have suspected the Labour Party of harbouring antisemites.
So is the media warping perceptions?

That's an analysis of how the general public responded to a particular set of questions which anybody with a shred of political awareness would realise were intended to root out anti-Semitic attitudes. I'd like to see what Momentum activists say when presented with something slightly more subtle than a brick.
Re the survey, those on the right are probably happier to be antisemites. We see how the left squirm at the label! I haven’t seen the questions, so can’t say, but generally the left try to maintain a plausible “I’m not antisemitic, just anti-Zionist”. The far right see nothing wrong with being antisemitic. Hence are more forthright about their views, potentially.

It smacks of a way to have a go at the left, iE who are more likely to be opposed to Israeli government policies, as opposed to the right, who probably don’t give a st about Israel but are more anti Semitic by nature.
What I've noticed is that criticism of Israeli policies goes hand in hand with a refusal to accept the actions of the Palestinians or their neighbours play a part in the situation, and a blind eye turned to injustices or oppression in other parts of the world.JuniorD said:
The International Definition of Antisemitism ( https://antisemitism.uk/definition/ ) cites the following as a contemporary example of antisemitism:
The Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
Well that's a load of bks insn't it?
You can't just go around telling the truth willy nilly, you know! The Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.

It's illegal to film footage of the IDF too, in Israel. I wonder why.

Extreme left and extreme right are both hateful groups. Don’t see why many think Left wing = cuddly and not racistSo whats basically happened is someone has stood up in a packed pub and yelled Oi! You! You like to fk kids.
If that happened to you, you'd kick off and suggest that maybe you don't.
In Jezza and the Jews he's basically standing there, looking at the floor and going
So he either:
a) proper hates the Jews.
b) has some serious skeletons in the closet.

The usual pantomime of Israel right/left showboating idiocy. Surprised you would fall for it really, unless of course you are a bit, well, ((( )))...

Do we have much of an active extreme left in Britain? As far as I can see, the current antisemitism card waving is a stick to beat the Labour Party / Jeremy Corbyn with.

We have an avowed Stalinist as head of communications in the Labour Party, so yes, we do.Maybe the LFI group should get its numbers up to 80% of members to match the CFI group, and all will be sweet.

An Israeli magazine has fired its long-serving cartoonist after he portrayed Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies as pigs from George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
The illustration referenced the Israeli prime minister and members of his party taking a congratulatory selfie after passing a contentious law in parliament that has been decried as giving Jewish people more rights than the country’s minorities.

You agree that there is no law preventing photography of the IDF, which is good, as rushing to believe things because it fits your world view is something that seems all to common on all sides of political debate currently.
