Honestly, if you aren't interested in the subject matter of a thread, you are totally free to ignore it.

FYI - the bbc (and sky news) were not reporting on it heavily this morning as there was nobody on the ground that could verify what was on social media.

keep in mind the time different over there is pretty steep.

no doubt the worlds media are about to land in vegas, that includes the BBC.

At least 3 magazines fully unloaded then. Poor souls.

Don't know why this is even worthy of news in the UK. How many others will die today in the US from the barrel of a gun?

Meanwhile Sky News considers this more newsworthy to us Brits than 110,000 fellow Brits (friends, family etc) who are stranded abroad. It's their top storey.
And if one of your relations happened to be at the Mandalay Resort right now, would you have typed the above?

People "stranded" abroad will get home eventually.

At least 2 people in Las Vegas will never be going home.

No one is 'stranded' as far as I can make out as there are replacement flights. Some may be mildly inconvenienced I suppose.

Do you really think that is a more newsworthy event than a nutter shooting up a concert?

I didn't think that the toll would remain at only two - given the sheer volume of gunfire unleashed. I'm waiting with baited breath as to who was responsible and how the Trump administration reacts.

Yep - same here now. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2017/oct/...

Local sheriff named the companion of the shooter as 'Marylou Danley'
