Unless I am being blind, no thread on this pervert?

Reckon he must be on suicide watch - his name is now mud in Hollywood, his own company fired him and now his wife has left him.

I find the accusations levelled at some of the female stars of not coming forward sooner because they were happy to be bank-rolled a little distateful.

I am surprised this hasn't come out sooner, now that I am reading about it.

As I understood it, the Legal process was that the actresses in question had very significant non disclosure clauses in their employment contracts, which whilst ostensibly to prevent leaks about the filming, plot lines or other commercial areas, these were used by Weinsteins lawyers to bully complainants into silence

Well that and the (very likely threat) of you will never work in this town again.

Hollywood has always known about this, it has never been challenged, there are a whole raft of producers, directors and agents who are guilty of casting couch abuses.

Reminds me of what people were saying about Jimmy Saville and Cyril Smith.

Here's my take.

Accusations of rape. This is a serious crime but why take so long to come forward. Needs to be investigated.

Other accusations. Were they illegal activities? if not shut up if they are as above.

With some of the stuff we know goes on in Hollywood/ Celebrities and how the perpetrators come out of it even better than before he really has had a big fall. Must have had a lot of enemies.

I kind of assumed all big Hollywood producers were at least a bit like this.

Why hasn’t he been arrested? Has nobody actually made a police complaint?

Alison Owen (film producer) was on R4 yesterday and said Weinstein had agreed to accompany her to a private screening of In The Cut (she was simultaneously friends with Jane Campion and trying to get Weinstein to buy into a film) - she thought it was strange as he is such a busy man.

Apparently he was giddy with excitement then got angry with the bloke in the projector booth to "get to the bit where she gets her tits out". Then when the scenes with Meg Ryan nude came on she said he disappeared behind a curtain and basically w*nked off. He was about 10 feet away from her and she could here him grunting.

I cringe when I remember listening to him on the Chris Evans breakfast show. Evans had his tongue so far up Weenersteins arse it was appalling. Still Evans doesn't have a great track record either http://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/686713/Chr... must be a hero figure to the ginger minger

I guess it does.

I think the reason I am more surprised (although the post below mine goes a way to explaining it) is that unlike with either Saville or Smith, the victims in these cases are internationally known names, rather than children who may not be able to speak out so easily

I think the issue is - the investigation of rape, is potentially as traumatic as the rape itself. Your name will be smeared through the mud, and even more so in Hollywood, by people claiming that you are only making the accusation in order to "get your name out there" - as you have admirably demonstrated with your post.

The recording by the actress the of him trying to get her in his room the day after he grabbed her breast was more shocking than I expected, he comes across as a grade-a scumbag.

Lots of allegations that his employees were passively complicit, often accompaning women to a "meeting" then be dismissed leaving him alone with the girl.

Like others, I'm sure hollywood/music/ ballet/opera is rife with this kind of thing where there is a sea of attractive women and men who can make/break their careers (Sheryl Crow was singing about in the 90's after all), but hopefully the internet and social media will allow things to reach a critical mass much faster than in the 90/00's.

Same here, now he's plastered everywhere and the media are reporting it like the most important thing ever mind you they do love a story about themselves.

Matt Damon and Russell Crowe managed to hush up a story about him in 2004. Brad Pitt worked with him after he had a go at his then wife Angelina Jolie and all these two faced liberal Hollywood stars took part in the women's march after the election in protest at Donald Trump. As did Harvey Weinstein

Just the tip of the iceberg and I await a Jimmy Savile style Hollywood witch hunt.
