Over 100 women have come forward.

Whether that was, or was not a factor in the sentencing, suggesting it was too harsh has to be putting yourself on the wrong side.
There's no right or wrong side, just the degree of objectivity. I don't think there's the slightest thing wrong with suggesting a sentence is harsh, particulary when the sentence has taken into account 'offences' that have yet to be heard/tried in court and the accused has yet to be convicted of any of them. Perhaps that's the way US courts work, I don't know.

The point I was making was (and it wasn't aimed at you), if you are going to come out in defence of someone maybe don't choose the guy accused of sexually assaulting or raping over 100 women.

Or do, and accept the consequences of that.

Rape's a vile crime. Harsh sentences (if this can even be considered that) should be par for the course.

I'd have harsh sentences for any physical violence against another.
He got 3 years for the 3rd decree rape (not that I know what a 3rd degree rape is in the US legal system).

His main crime was the sexual assault one which he got 20 years.
So would you have given him more?

(The "assault" angle fits in my view on harsh sentences too btw smile).

Reading what happens in Trump thread, it seems that power is everything and who you have installed and what crime etc. for loading the bases. Weinsteins power was in the wrong area.

Would it not have been more prudent for Mr Weinstein to have requested the services of high-class call girls in LA, rather than raping women, to satisfy his sexual urgencies?

What a plonker.

This.

Power and Ego.

Most people wouldn’t pay for sex as they would consider it an insult that they can only get women by paying.

People like Weinstein like to think they can ‘have any woman they want’ by flexing their power and influence.

They then start thinking that no one would ever say no to them, and we can all see where that leads.

Very interesting, thanking you.

Can't relate to it though, but then I'm not a powerfully built PH director type.

Don't leave us yet, Harvey! Show up to the California courts and see out your sentences first.

He looks healthy enough - should shrug it off.

I wonder what ‘duty of care’ prisons have to keep inmates safe from virus epidemics? Would not be surprised if he sued them for negligence.

Prisons have an ordinary duty of care to protect inmates from avoidable harm. Absent some egregiously dangerous arrangements, the prison would not be likely to be liable for people in prison catching illnesses from one another.

Is Harvey on his way out?

“ Harvey Weinstein ill with a fever and being 'closely monitored' in prison
A spokesman says the ex-producer has a fever, but would not "confirm nor deny" he had tested positive for COVID-19.”

Something tells me the Aryan Brotherhood won’t be very welcoming to a Jewish person.
Or maybe they will?! Every day is a school day on PH.

I would suggest he was pretty much a one-off case, and tolerated due to his ‘partial Jewish background’.

Most Aryan Brotherhood ‘enthusiasts’ look like this friendly chap:

Nobody commented that the picture shows TX on the twits belly. Is this Terminator X of this parish who seems to not realise that posts don’t need signing?
